After this tops out within a month there will be no 150 m towers under construction in the city for the first time in years. Hopefully it doesn’t take years for the second tower to go up.

Was downtown with guests last week and this has turned out amazing! From the building itself, to the area gap it fills, high marks all across.

To poster above, I agree. I read the national article about Miami surpassing Chicago in the future in skyscrapers. Chicago is due for something big and bold.

I'm guessing the financial woes of both the city and state will continue to affect large scale construction for many years to come.

The chart on this Skyscraper Center page shows that Chicago didn't complete a single 150m+ building in 1993 - 1998. Let's hope the upcoming gap won't last as long.

I think we should be grateful the boom lasted this long, and our skyline is better for it!

Happy Holidays

Chicago may be surpassed in number of skyscrapers someday, but NEVER in quality and composition of the skyline. I like Chicago's skyline more than NYC. It's so beautifully laid out. As for the skyline of Miami...lol

It's starting to peek up from vantage points to the west now, too. I caught a few glimpses from the train the other day.

Off-topic. Ten years later the city somehow needs to dress up the riverwalk ramp south of Lake. It really detracts from the rest of the riverwalk.

I thought I remembered an idea to somehow integrate a food market or an eatery around the space.

Oh hey, one more-- I wasn't expecting it to pop up on the far left side of this pic! I guess it's close enough to the pier (and getting tall enough) to be visible from either side of it:
