Zoning application for a parcel on Parliament near the Lewvan. It can't be residential because of new airport restrictions, so it will be for commercial use.

A Good Life Corp (formerly Arwel) was posting daily progress shots of the Toronto & 15th project to their social media. They haven't posted anything in nearly a month, I'm a bit curious if the job site is still active.

One thing I didn't catch back in September is that although Arwel was the builder for the stalled rapid housing project, Westridge is taking over to complete it. I saw a post on reddit that the failure of that project was why they changed names, but unless that person had non-public info it might have been speculative.

It's a little small for a cricket field as you can only fit a 100m circle in there and they are usually around 140-150m for mens. Maybe they don't need as much space for recreational, but the corners of 23rd and Pasqua to 23rd to Lewvan are already crazy when big events happen at the Rugby Club.

Proximity to Golden Mile and Harbour Landing are good for usage though and given the flight cones from the airport, it's not a great spot for any moderate scale development either so more park/recreation space is not a bad usage.

It looks like both projects are being developed by Cara Homes and they have another double lot directly east across the street that will be getting a similar project on it. I'm curious how many lots they own in that area and plan to develop.

I drove to a few places today, will probably get out several times this week if the wind isn't horrible when it warms up.

Just as I was leaving the rail bridge in the NW a flat bed carrying concrete beams rolled up on the tracks. They are much larger than the existing beams under the bridge deck. I'm not sure they'll be able to install the new ones without lifting the bridge deck off.

It doesn't look like much is going on out at the Grand Coulee truck stop.

Nice biking weather today. Last of the exterior walls for Ronald McDonald house went up, a large piece had been laying on the ground the last few times I was by there. Final floor starting to get framed at Broad & College.

Had a chance to check out Dewdney this week—it looks great! Yes it's obviously not as good an arterial road, now, but the pedestrian experience is fantastic, which was the point.

U of R put out a tender seeking development proposals for the parcel of land wedged between Grant Road, Wascana Parkway and the Ring Road. The image in the document highlights the entire area including the large existing community garden. Maybe proposals will work around the garden for initial phases.

The university intends to maintain ownership and doesn't want to pay for development, just collect long term lease income. Its possible the inquiry doesn't amount to anything.

U of S did this on their lands where Preston Crossing shopping Centre is now located. It is good source of income from unused lands and can provide for additional amenities and housing for students and staff.

I think we need to create a new account to be able to change the user name.

The Investment and Ownership of Crosstown has no correlation to the lack of funding issues that came about on the stalled rapid housing project.

The site has been very active, as photos have been posted of the progress that includes the 2nd floor suspended slab pour in mid-November along with 2nd floor wall progressing.

While the project has certainly been slower than we would have liked, rest assured the site has been busy and active moving forward.

I did grab a picture on the weekend (a few posts up), and saw the second floor ICF perimeter wall blocks were mostly up since my last visit.

As was posted on Instagram (If you followed Arwel on Instagram, it was rebranded to A Good Life). The Instagram Page has been regularly updated, however there has been a bit of a lull over the last month. Facebook doesn't make things easy to change so A Good Life is the page to follow for updates.
