Didn't like the way he (and most of the TSN band of wimps) excluding Suits, jumped Nathan Rourke.

I can separate the message from the messenger so we'll see what they have to say but I really find him annoying AF and couldn't finish his last "interview" with Phonsie.
I mean… a large portion of the greats in the CFL were American made/born, at least in recent era… they achieved CFL success in large part due to honing their skills in the American game.

Calling people weak Canadian cause they admire success made in the NFL and then works covering CFL is ridiculous… I think people are more weak when they outright give up season tickets and therefore supporting the CFL overall. Two of the changes are considered major (length of field and upright position) but in no way does it make it American gridiron. To those weak people who turn their backs, I say good riddance. Mind you, I consider change in all aspects of life are in someway a good thing. Long live the CFL.

Totally unconvincing, the idiot and the bullshitter (make your own choice which one is which)

The Commish said Billy Ray Mullet was one of the best football broadcasters in the world. Nuf ced!

That was an Ambrosie comment at the height of the League’s delusions about the Schooners but I would like to see Johnston come out in support of the same. If the League wants that 10th team I think it’s going to need to acknowledge and outright embrace the fact it likely isn’t going to reflect the current nine. They’re likely going to be playing in a partially temporary stadium because the business case for a permanent 20K+ stadium just doesn’t exist in Halifax or QC. Reiterating support for that business model could help spur conversations with potential owners who just don’t have the ability to fund anything permanent.

In the olden days a new stadium could get built for a big international event. We just don't seem to do those things anymore or at least as much as we used to.

Your thoughts being yours… but I thought it was actually a fantastic , high emotion, gritty, animated, interaction… something the CFL has rarely ever had.

Like the commish is not in any way trying to 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 anybody. He’s the closest ally to the CFL that the league could look for in a commissioner.

As you posted the video I was thinking I was gonna come out of it after watching it being more on your side, but the opposite happened. The Commish is a real genuine person, while being supportive of Willsion as a broadcaster, he also critiqued him… The reason as the commish explained, he likes that Willson can explain the X’s and O’s basically in layman terms.

Anyway, thanks for sharing, I’m even more inspired and excited about the changes after watching tha!

I blame Halifax for not being able to put together a compelling bid for the Summer Olympics.

Commonwealth Games? Problem is, like everything else, with things like security, it got too expensive.

lol. Whatever man, call my opinion trolling all you want, all you do here is 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 and 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 about the changes that many support, then you even go and beak off calling people “weak Canadians” because they like Luke Willson.. you’re just pissed off because Willson calls out people exactly like you, like where the F did you come up with the Americanization of the game?… see ya later, take your money and go elsewhere. CFL ball doesn’t need you.

Problem is no one cares about the Commonwealth Games anymore. Alberta looked at bidding on them recently, but it was explicitly an “Alberta” bid so they could use Commonwealth Stadium rather than reno McMahon or build a replacement.

I’d say the Pan Am games are also a non-starter but that’s what got Hamilton its new stadium, so perhaps that’s an option for a city like Halifax or QC?

While I agree those competitions have lost a lot of their former prestige, I think it is a brand that could be rebuilt. Competitions like swimming and track have some world class athletes that could be marketed but as I just said, the rising costs are the the main problem.

I don't share cjones opinion, have I called him a troll? What about people who have posted 100 percent negative things about the CFL and 100 percent positive about the NFL or MLS?

How come some of these posters have barely posted in this thread until the rule changes?

And finally, do you actually buy this "I thought it was actually a fantastic , high emotion, gritty, animated, interaction… something the CFL has rarely ever had." If you do, I have some land...

I would bet that you already had your opinion made up on that interview before you even watched it… If you actually did watch it, and they had great back and forth, Wilson bringing up great points, Commish providing very thoughtful answers…

I make it a point to stay away from such narrow minded mindset. I’m open for to these changes for the fact they are changes, and I’m open to media interaction like the Wilson/commish segment because the CFL is in desperate need of more coverage, especially with people in Wilson’s generation.

Plus they touched on the very points you are complaining about in this thread and it’s awesome to watch them calling you/those points out as ridiculous.

Call me a troll all you want, for whatever reason you want, in the end you just keep complaining and complaining,

Both posts are me, dude. I'll recap for you.

CFL: Ref blows in the play clock, NFL: automatic start to play clock. Adopting auto clock = more NFL like.

CFL:110 yards, NFL: 100 yards. Adopting 100 yards = exactly NFL like.

CFL: 20 yard end zone, used to have 25 yards, NFL: 10 yard endzone. Shrinking to 15 yards = more NFL like.

CFL: Goal posts on the goal line, NFL: back of end zone. Moving to back of end zone = exactly NFL like.

CFL: team benches where they made sense for each stadium, or where the home team preferred them. NFL: apparently feels the need to dictate this minutia, and that chosen dictation is opposite apparently? Adopting the need to dictate this = more NFL like

I expect you to retract your "stupid" insult above.

The direction is clearly 100% in the direction the American game. Not a single change became less like the American game. By definition the changes ARE Americanizations. Calling then out as such is not "stupid"

So it's not stupid, it's a fair and reasonable characterization of what has happened. And I'm again calling on you to publicly retract that. You would, if you had any honour.

Hahahha! If I had any honour of retracting my statement?!

Just watch this…

That would be a no, I was hoping to get some answers and didn't, just the same old same old. What was it the mullet called the fan base - tinhats? which the Commish was smart enough to try and avoid.

And sorry to burst your bubble I said time and again I have accepted the rules even though I don't like them and that I could justify them logically even though I don't think they are necessary.

What did the mullet call himself "The People's Commish" of whom? Certainly not the people of the west who I keep being told they're the only people who still care about the CFL.

Why did he have the word Americanized in the title of the video if the subject of the video actually had nothing to do with it.

I never called you a troll even though you called others who disagreed with you stupid, until you posted a line that was so ridiculously disingenuous I said that was trolling

You called many of the fanbase stupid, the (mullet said tinhats) until jonny blew your argument full of holes.

I am always prepared to have my mind changed even if I disagree with somebody or have a preconceived notion of them. In this case my notions were reaffirmed.
