ah ok, I had to change my route home today and ended up going past. Haven't gone that way in a long time.

------

%Arabica has apparently opened? they plan to have 5 locations by next year.

% Arabica is looking to open its third location in Vancouver's Oakridge around March, and hopefully to have five stores opened by next year in B.C., according to Khambule.

Holy Shakes is opening a location in Surrey on 100th and 152 in a former 7-11, the chain originates from Ontario, there is one already open in Delta and a third is planned for downtown Vancouver. They also have food, like burgers, wraps and such.

Those look fucking foul, but I will admit that I had kathi rolls when I was in India and they were goddamn delicious, so I'd give those a shot here.

Meh.

It depends on what flavour they are.

I'm assuming it's more because of the bottle colouring, but those are giving me strong "blue milk" vibes from a Galaxy Far Far Away™ (....from long time ago)

for me the appeal of krispy kreme is to see the sign flashing outside saying that the donuts were fresh out of the oven, otherwise I would never go

this one seems like a letdown if they aren't actually making the donuts there

Shake Shack is really good, the fries are my favourite. I've tried them in Tokyo, Mexico City, Busan, Seattle and Las Vegas, never disappoints. A little more pricey than in n out. The hot dogs are good too.

For me, SS destroys In-N-Out, but it's like twice the price. I used to go to one near my apartment in Seoul a couple of times a month. I was never disappointed.

Order the Double Shack. It's the best large-scale franchised hamburger around, in my opinion.

I've only been to SS in Miami. Always wanted to go to the original in NYC (Herald Park...? Bryant Park?). SS is way better than In & Out but pretty premium pricing. We thought their food was very good though not mindblowing.

In & Out, from the one time I went to the LAX-adjacent one in 2015, was like, satisfying though not perfect, but was shockingly cheap for what you got. The value was legit.

Krispy Kreme opens this week; apparently, the first 100 customers will receive a dozen donuts or something like that.

I wonder if they will have more of these smaller locations.

It opened today. Yesterday they gave away a dozen donuts each to several hundred people who lined up at 3pm.

Today the first 12 people in line at opening received a golden ticket giving them one free dozen a month for a year.

Ron.
