There are quite a few to accommodate left turn lanes on North Road.

there are lots pics and clips of the new guideway in East Surrey where the track is really close to some townhouses at 184th and Fraser Hwy, I can't find confirmation but people are laughing and horrified that the train is so close to them. Still, some commentators have said that the townhouses were sold a while back and they will be demolished and replaced at some point, is that true? Amazing to see so much guideways already installed.

Those townhouse are next to the station - so prime redevelopment site.

Looks like they were built in 2015.

DH article with those townhouses

Units are selling for 800K and there's 71 units. Just steps away from the Skytrain station lol. Around 2.6 acres.

I wonder what the economics are on rebuilding those kind of sites. I would think they'll just sit like that for another 20-30 years.

That unit doesn't front onto Fraser hwy, its on the side street. Realtor.ca has the pin in the wrong spot. Look at picture number 29.

At 5.0 FSR, that's ~560,000 buildable sqft. Assuming the ~$600 per sqft valuation holds, that's ~$340M in revenue on let's say ~$70M in land costs (assuming prices jump to an average of ~$1M per unit). You'd need to be building for under $480/sqft to make a profit, doubt that's possible for highrise contruction right now.

I just saw this - brings it up

So it seems that these townhouses have not been sold as some of the rumours going around are saying.

They're all strata townhouses anyways.

Where's the current tallest guideways on the Skytrain network. The Kensington Avenue section seems a bit taller than the segments over the highway?

I think the span over Hwy 1 is a bit taller. I assume we’re excluding the Skybridge approach.

The segment off the Clark Drive escarpment is also pretty tall.
It may be taller than Moe's Furniture.

Another taller than normal segment is just south of Burquitlam Station near Cottonwood Ave. I'm assuming most people here don't get to that section of the SkyTrain system as often.

Following the re-opening of the Fraser Highway
closure area between 140 Street and 96 Avenue
on December 14, 2025, the following traffic
pattern changes will be in effect through project
construction. Updates will be shared as needed:
• Single lane traffic in each direction on Fraser
Highway between 140 Street and 96 Avenue.
• Travel lanes will shift based on the location of
the work. Traffic control and signs will be in
place to direct road users.
• Multi-use pathways will remain closed to
pedestrians and cyclists. Cyclists and
pedestrians will continue to use alternate
routes.
• Left turn restrictions will be in place for Fraser
Highway southbound onto 140 Street and 140
Street eastbound onto Fraser Highway
