I was going to come in here and make the exact same statement to see how many people that pissed off but thanks for saving me the effort.
And yes, most people will call it the Pattullo even after the old one is gone, just like how the New Port Mann is still known as the Port Mann, even thought that bridge is also long gone. We don't do this to make ourselves seem like an asshole, we stick to old names because of the baggage of occasionally explaining why we suddenly changed the name, like a divorced grade 2 teacher explaining to the class why she's now Ms. Mills as opposed to Ms. Henderson.
We get that the gov is still in "Thou Shalt Only Speaketh of Reconciliation" mode, but that's a hard one to believe with how the current land claim gaffe is going.
"We'll give you everything we can to remember the horrible things that happened to you, name parks, bridges and streets to remember.....but hold on, we gotta rethink letting you get dibs on your land again."
