Also has a good overview of Keltic's woes.

Keltic lists Burnaby REVS Bowling project less than three years after purchase
Quote:
Keltic acquired the 4.29-acre property for $94 million in 2023, one of Metro Vancouver’s largest real estate transactions that year.

After teasing redevelopment plans, Keltic unveiled a rezoning proposal earlier this year for three high-rise towers of between 45 and 59 storeys with 1,667 residential units: 1,172 strata units, 260 market rentals units and 235 non-market rental units.

The City of Burnaby granted the rezoning application a third reading — tantamount to conditional approval — in May 2025, but 5502 Lougheed Highway was listed for sale on November 26 by Jamie Wallace of Oakwyn Realty Ltd. and Goran Bucan of Sutton Group West Coast Realty with an asking price of $108 million.

.....
I'd be curious to know what tower proposal (if it even is a proposal at this point) the ghosted tower sitting right behind it is.

I recognize Central Park House in the foreground and Bosa's rental tower on Katheen Ave. (Broadview) down the street closer to the Hilton.

That ghosted tower appears in all the render shots and looks like it's a more or less fully developed concept rather than just a massing space-filler, but I don't recall any official proposal or application for any tower in that particular lot.

Other views...
It's the ghosted one just to the south of this proposal and seems significantly taller than both Central Park House and I imagine even Solhouse (Bosa's other project between Central Park House and Nuvo).

Seems to be on a lot consolidation (...possibly the 3 lots) to the south of Wilson 3 (5978 Wilson) marked in yellow:-

And 6018

Seems like all sold together for $18,550,000 to Solterra

This 45,666 SF site in Metrotown is comprised of three properties at 6004, 6006 and 6018 Wilson Avenue, owned by Solterra Development. The site is currently comprised of three older residential buildings that are being proposed for rezoning under the Metrotown Downtown Plan for a new 36-storey highrise development with townhouses fronting Wilson Avenue. The proposed density is likely to be 5.0 FAR.

Thanks Jollyburger.

That's the one I meant.

But that rezoning application seems to have been submitted a while ago, I'm assuming - with Solterra acquiring the lots all the way back in 2013.

The ghosted image shows what looks to be a tower much taller than the 36 storey the rezoning application was for.

It would be interesting to know if a new rezoning or application was made in light of the new TOD legislations, seeking more density and height given the lot's proxmity to both Metrotown and Patterson skytrain stations (and Metrotown Bus loop).

What I'm kinda dissappointed with, is that they pushed over the three to four power lines off to the sides of the property, like this, instead of removing them:

Nice! Cool to see development around the 2nd lowest ridership skytrain station.
It's great that it's actually right next to the station too and not like a 500m walk away.

The City of Burnaby is currently reviewing 5 potential locations to build a pedestrian and cycling overpass across the train tracks in Brentwood.

The new Holdom Overpass project will have dual bike/ped pathways, so Douglas probably isn't the best location since Holdom is so close by (and on the south side of the tracks intersects with Douglas).
I'm not sure what the current state of the Willingdon Overpass is for bikes.
For Beta Ave, the Grosvenor development will have a new community centre (not marked on their survey!), which would be a major destination.

Willingdon overpass is currently pretty sketchy, there is only a sidewalk, standard width, technically sign indicates you can take HOV lane with a bike, which I do when I go down downhill, if I go uphill, I’ll use sidewalk.

very sketchy.

The combination of HOV, Hwy merging and Costco... as a driver I get confused. As a cyclist, I would imagine this as suicide.

When i commuted by bike, I would of used Gilmour
