They left the floor concrete pad of the old building at Hamilton and Gore Rd. Guess they decided not to dig the slab and footings out.

Looks like the structural steel that has been going up in Kilworth is for this retail plaza highlighting a new Shoppers and No Frills.

Expect to see a slow down in new apartment building project construction as vacancy rates increase with new units coming on the market as current buildings wrap up construction.

A number of projects that haven't started yet might not happen in 2026 or later.

Still working on the exterior of the multi unit retail building fronting Wonderland at Westmount Mall. Progress has slowed recently for some reason.

Looking through that document there are several interesting projects that qualify for Priority Site Plan Applications. They include several towers at Wellington/Jalna (Swiss Chalet plaza), a 17 floor tower from Auburn across from Victoria Park, a 18 floor tower on Wellington near SoHo, a 12 floor tower on Albert Street.

However it says that construction would have had to start by December 1st to allow for CMHC to make inspections (?).

To be fair London still has a lot of buildings under construction (or just starting), especially apartment buildings. A crane just went up on Southdale/Pack Road for another tower from York (that makes 2 towers for them on Southdale West), there is Auburn who just started at Highbury/Oxford, Tricar is building on Ridout near Wortley Village, the new 35 floor residential tower at 320 King at Waterloo, the tower(s) at West 5, a tower at Commissioner's near Adelaide, whatever is still u/c in SOHO, a few towers in north London on Richmond and I am sure there are others.

So that is a significant amount of building going out despite the economic situation. I would like there to be more to of the nice tall downtown projects to get started, hopefully that will come in time.

The only things getting built now is purpose built rentals, whether apartment buildings or townhouses. SFH is really slow now and new condo's is dead.

The Legacy Village at Oxford and Highbury is Old Oak BTW. Auburn is up at Villagewalk with two 9s under construction.

A couple of construction sites have already shutdown for the Holiday break today. Probably back on Jan 05 2026.

Why? It's not like ICE vehicles are going away in the next 50 years irreguardless of what the climate and environmental advocates say or think. Plus gas bars offer alot more than just fuel. Snacks, car washes, fast food etc etc.

Some old ones close, some new ones open. It's rare that a gas station is just your typical self serve with a variety store like the 80's and 90's, just like those were different than the full serve with an attached garage of prior generations. Most new ones seem to have more options attached nowadays.

Also of note they have been forming and pouring walls for another U-Haul storage building on the south side of the current U-Haul center on Clark Rd north of Gore Rd.

Deputy Mayor suggests rolling back previous parking space change to require new residential developments to provide 1-1 ratio of parking spaces to units.

Not sure the City needs to do this as developers are well aware that lack of parking means many potential tenants will not rent in your building as 195 Dundas St illustrates with huge vacancy rate that may finally improve with new parking garage construction.

Build a residential building without parking and your likely going to see many empty units. Market forces will influence developer plans.
