Your right, I still see some of those metal panel stored to the side, etheir way, happy we wont have to wait months before excavation.

Ok, after many hours and days on the white board, I believe i have figured it out.

Started removal on Remembrance day, paying all involed in that work double time.
The incredible fast turnaround time for the dump trucks.
= Equals = the 2025 FIM World Supercross Championship at BC Place tomorrow night Saturday Nov 15 at BC Place.

"The dirt for the BC Place motocross event, part of the FIM World Supercross Championship, is sourced from local construction sites within a short radius of the stadium. Event organizers do not specify the exact source to maintain security and manage logistics."

Now, does this mean there is still a preload to continue at the site or was that dirt just stockpiled there just for that event

I think they just used it for the base layer from this timelapse

But they needed 650 trucks so not sure if that matches up with the amount of soil they had stockpiled there. Last year it was 6000 tonnes of dirt.

He says: “The dirt is a mix of glacial till and clay. So we have brown clay in here this year, different than last year.

“There is still quite a bit of rock in with the dirt, which we have to sift out, and one of the challenges is that you don’t know how it is going to pack.

“We will have about 650 trucks bring in the dirt,” he says, with a truck arriving every 67 seconds on the first day of the build.”

There was zero work on the site since they removed the dirt so maybe they'll use the site as a staging site for removal of the dirt. I doubt they will use any preload.

Maybe 200 or so loads from this site just by scanning the timelapse.

The two excavators are still on the site so probably means they'll return the dirt here.

If there is a quick turn around for BC Place on events, they would get it done quickly by returning the dirt back here, then hopefully clear this site of it and get back to regular construction.

It's surprising to me that they didn't try and put more density on that site, considering the context with so many towers already surrounding it.

That's why they didn't consider another tower. The planning for the former Expo lands envisaged that site for non-market housing in a lower building. The two towers on either side are only about 60 metres apart. Given minimum tower to tower spacing of 25m, the site could theoretically only accomodate an expensive 10 metre wide tower. The other two sites being developed with non-market housing as part of the recent deal with Concord are larger, and both will have a tower.

site prep started at the Beatty/Nelson Social Housing/Fire Hall project ..... they seem to have cleared the lot and there is a small piece of machinery on site now.

One of the excavators drove off the site two days ago. It might have gone over to the Beatty site.

Are there any signs identifying a contractor or excavation subcontractor? If not it might be environmental clean up before the main excavation company takes over.
