So, the McLaughlin/TCH interchange is considered a "long term goal."

This is of course completely dependent upon provincial funding and cooperation.

Of course, provincial priorities can change quickly. The new roundabout at the westbound on/off ramps at Moapleton Road happened very quickly as soon as the province realized how bad the situation was. I imagine the same thing could happen with McLaughlin. This might happen sooner than people expect (especially if there is a lot of bellyaching and complaining).

I’m happy to see that in the short term they plan on connecting Crowley farm road to LFB Drive. That should massively decrease the bottleneck at Morton and McLaughlin. All of these improvements will be welcome for sure!

What would be great, is if the Province constructed the fly-past lane ( I think i have the correct term) to connect all of the GMA TCH interchanges.

A replacement school for Forest Glen and Sunny Brea has been announced in the capital spending budget. A location and opening date have not yet been revealed.

Would the 'proposed improvement' to Elmwood/Morton/Mill be a roundabout? There's plenty of space for one.

It's an oddly structured intersection. I could see how a roundabout might be an attractive option. This is all purely speculative however.

Wouldn't be too complicated.

-Shift 350 Elmwood's Morton Ave entrance further south down Morton
-Stop up the eastern stub of Redmond
-Nuke the Tims (I feel like I'm saying that a lot lately) or the Irving if needed, but maybe not?

And you've got a straightforward 2-lane roundabout.

Yuk, two lane roundabouts stress me out. I wish people knew how to use a signal light.

Signage has gone up for Osmow's Shawarma in the new retail strip at the Elmwood Plaza on Morton.

Nice picture.

Elmwood Plaza is picking up with this new little retail strip and the Dollarama that opened last year. The Shoppers Drug Mart is also a decent building.

They really, REALLY, REALLY need to renovate the remainder of the plaza though. I've lived in Moncton since 1989, and there has been no change in the original strip for this entire 36 year period. It was ugly then. It's even uglier now.

C'mon guys, you have the beginnings of a rejuvenated plaza. Don't stop now!!!

That's a nice looking little plaza, with good quality tenants.

They really, really,, REALLY need to refurbish the remainder of the Elmwood Plaza however.

The Dollarama was nicely constructed when they moved in last year, and there's nothing wrong with the Shoppers Drug Mart, but, the remainder of the plaza has not changed a whit since I first moved to Moncton in 1989. It was ugly then, it remains ugly now.

Not to mention the parking lot which also has not been repaved in the last 35 years.

How does Osmos’s compare to Boustan? 🥙

If I’m not mistaken it’s owned by the same owners as Mapleton Plaza. I’m certain it used to be so I’m assuming it still is. Hopefully they can do a nice facelift on Elmwood like they did on Mapleton, complete with a new parking lot.

Signage for Flameo is now installed.

Mary Brown's opening is imminent.

Probably an "anchor" unit at a premium rent cost.
