Is there any information on the renovations that were and are supposed to happen at the Coca-Cola Coliseum for the Toronto Tempo, and how it’s going

How were your respective cities able to upgrade those venues?

Obviously, the Civic Centre has a unique design that might make upgrades a little more challenging, though I'm sure a building from the 20s has unique challenges as well.
The Pacific Coliseum has some upgrades done for the 2010 Olympics and then the Vancouver Giants (WHL) were there a while before moving to a smaller rink in Langley. The PNE just put $6M into the facility for the PWHL Goldeneyes team. Upgraded dressing room, graphics new scoreboard and they are expecting a sell out for the first game and they apparently have the highest numbers of STH in the league

Montreal suburbs and some inner city parts are the land of the Tempo.

I've seen one built in Toronto over a lawn parking spot. Lasted only a couple days. I'm surprised they are allowed in Montreal.

so the team is named after Toronto and is playing in Hamilton?

Seems common. New York has a bunch of pro sports teams baring the city's name playing out of New Jersey. There are many other examples.

Coca-Cola Coliseum, formerly Ricoh coliseum, is in Toronto, on the Exhibition grounds, and will host the WNBA team.

TD Coliseum, formerly Copps Coliseum and FirstOntario Centre, is in Hamilton and will continue hosting the Toronto Rock.

The "New York" teams which play in New Jersey are closer to mid-town and Lower Manhattan than the Toronto teams playing out of Hamilton.

Well we can point to the Detroit Pistons when they played in Ann Arbor or the Boston Fleet who play in Lowell Massachusetts. Those distances are more similar to Toronto-Hamilton.

Aside from training camp, when did the Pistons play in Ann Arbor

Sorry, Auburn Hills. Not quite the same distance, but still far from its namesake city.

Here's another example, the San Francisco 49s playing in Santa Clara 70 kilometers away, closer to San Jose.

With MLS realigning their season schedule from August to May in 2027, no doubt the Montreal Impact will have to move into Olympic Stadium for some winter dates. I can't see the Impact playing professional soccer outdoors in late November especially February even March. There will be a 2 month winter break in December and January but Montreal winters last longer than that. So for those of you attacking me about getting rid of that ugly Wet Diaper roof and Taylor Swift and vigourously questioning keeping Olympic Stadium, now you see the need and potential benefit of having an indoor stadium option.

I've heard the big O plans to retain a baseball configuration?

Seems like a mistake, unless this baseball configuration is heavily scaled down from the previous baseball configuration?

Trying to keep the big O alive as ballpark just seems like a fruitless endeavour. If a renovation is going to be successful I think it should be almost entirely focussed providing a world class spectator experience for rectangular sports, and not retain any sort of goofy multi use stadium design features to allow for a baseball configuration. I don't think the MLB would even let a Minor League baseball team play in Montreal if the plan was to play at Olympic Stadium.

Soccer and football have a lot fewer games per year, which makes the trek out to Olympic Stadium far less of a pain in the ass than it was for 80 home games per season with the Expos.

Montreal might have been left out of the World Cup due to the state of Olympic Stadium, but with a proper football/soccer renovation, perhaps it could host the Copa America one day, and maybe even host the finals.

Alternatively, they’re likely to consider relocation. Playing a significant chunk of the season in the cavern that is Olympic Stadium is going to kill the crowds and game day atmosphere just like it has to every other team that has played there regularly.

Montreal (and Chicago) got out of the WC bidding early because of the overall cost (including things like security) and not primarily to do with the stadium. Also with three Canadian cities likely to be chosen (instead of two) there would be fewer games for the enormous expense.
