Haha. It looks like the rendering got water all over it, dried and then warped.

Ron.
Thanks for pointing that out, I may have misquoted. The wording in their release is a bit awkward.

This rezoning is for three parcels which can have multiple towers/mid rises each. Referring to the diagrams in the first post from the master plan the condos should be parcels 2 and 5 and the rental would probably be parcel 8.

So I think this means:

-Parcel 2 with ~400 strata units and heights up to 14 storeys
-Parcel 5 with ~350 strata units with heights up to 13 storeys
-Parcel 8 (a guess) with 300 rental units

that looks quite nice. wonder why they choose to go with darth vader on the screen though. seems specific.

well the Toys R US is officially closed down. sad times.

i wonder if anything will move in there. lots of empty storefronts, though it was pretty busy still.

Unless the phasing changes I guess they keep it tenanted. They have so much empty parking lot so I don't think they are in any need for staging/storage on the site.

is there a tenant that would want that space? its pretty big, and that mall is not exactly full as it is.

i dont know who would want/need that space.

Project will 'put Richmond on the map': Redevelopment of Lansdowne mall site passes initial hurdle

Plans to dramatically transform one of Richmond’s central landmarks, the sprawling Lansdowne Centre shopping mall, into a mixed-use community passed an initial hurdle recently with city council’s approval of a master plan for green space on the site.

The proposed redevelopment of the 20-block site calls for 24 towers with a mix of residential and office space, 4,500 homes for over 10,000 residents, 700,000 square feet of retail space and four blocks worth of park space.
Quote:
The whole redevelopment is still in the early stages and will be carried out over multiple phases that will take many years to complete. The first residential buildings aren’t expected until 2030.
Quote:
The next step for the Lansdowne site is for its owner, Vancouver-based VanProp, to go to city council in 2026 for approval of plans it’s making with joint-venture developer partner Bosa Properties for the first of seven phases.

The first phase includes three mixed-use buildings that will be built in sequence in the northeast corner of the site, which is currently occupied by parking spaces.
