Not in there of course is St-John's.

Average attendance:
With St-John's: 3272 (+3.8%)
Removing St-John's: 3010 (-4.5%)

Pretty much status quo for Moncton, which isn't to bad since there isn't as much hype about the team as last year.

Interesting. Around here we tend to refer to the hometown of the Armada as Blainville, not Boisbriand. Is the latter more appropriate or accepted in the greater Montreal region???

The arena is in Boisbriand. They are two separate neighbouring communities, but nobody refers to the area in general as "Blainville-Boisbriand", despite the name of the club.

The City of Moncton is showcasing its reputation as a world-class destination for sports events by hosting Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada live on Sportsnet on Jan. 17, 2026.

New Brunswick’s largest city will host an event-packed week celebrating Canada’s game, capped by a marathon day-long broadcast featuring all seven Canadian NHL teams in action on Sportsnet. Sportsnet’s Ron MacLean and the Hockey Night in Canada panel will be in Moncton to host the celebration from Downtown Place at the City’s Avenir Centre.

This will be another nice highlight for both downtown moncton and the avenir centre. I expect there will be a push to make sure the Wildcats game sells out.

Another notch as we head towards what will be a competitive landscape for the 2028 memorial cup hosting.

he 2026 NORCECA Men’s Continental Volleyball Championship is coming to the Centre Avenir Centre from Sept. 11-19, 2026, presented by Volleyball Canada.

Top men’s national teams from across the Americas will compete for a chance to qualify for the LA 2028 Olympics and three spots at the 2027 Men’s Volleyball World Championship.

Fans will get to see elite athletes and Olympic hopefuls in action, all right here in Moncton.

This will certainly be novel and different. World class volleyball is actually quite entertaining.

Former Moncton mayor George LeBlanc has passed away.

I credit him (along with Ian Fowler) as being the person most responsible for the construction of the Avenir Centre in downtown Moncton. He did all the hard work, negotiating with the federal and provincial governments for the necessary funding for this project. George understood the transformative nature of a downtown attraction like the Avenir Centre.

He knew how this arena project was about much more than a junior hockey team. He knew that having a modern performance venue such as this would place us on the concert circuit and would attract other events as well. He knew that downtown Moncton was in desperate need of a central focal point to keep it's relevance within the community. Without the Avenir Centre, Moncton was in danger of becoming a "donut" city like Detroit. He knew that the Avenir Centre was necessary as a catalyst to stimulate growth in the downtown.

Look around downtown now. Look at all the new highrise apartment buildings under construction and the new hotels and restaurants. This is all due to George LeBlanc's vision. He has never got enough credit for this.

and if they win on Friday in Charlottetown it means they can win on saturday to clinch 1st overall, so it will essentially be a sold out playoff game type atmosphere.

The good news for Moncton is without any 3 day in a row theatre shows this year it should be much easier figuring out the schedule if they have a deep playoff run.
