I wonder who decides what songs they play and in what order. I agree they should just let the band determine and have some flow to it.

I'm dreading the response to the Superbowl Bad Bunny show, going to be a lot of negativity around that one.

I'm on a music forum, it is, ummm...yeah...the announcement went over very well.

I'm assuming at the Superbowl they would be even more scripted, especially given wardrobe malfunctions and the such. I'm assuming there were some content checks on the Grey Cup, but I would think they would have a little more leeway.

I don't like MGT, but he has a decent enough catalog to have been able to play five songs more fully for a better experience. It just came over fragmented and too rushed.

Looks like this year's Grey Cup rating were up 12% YoY to 4.02 Million (over 10 million unique views)

I think they try to get the best artist they can, to get new eyeballs on the game. OLP was the pre-game, Canadian anthem singer and lots of Canadiana throughout Grey Cup week

Its not like they have a catalogue and can pick and choose who they want. Has to line up with tour schedules, and they have to want to play outdoors in Winnipeg in mid-November

Not an mgk fan, but though he did a good job and the sound and stage production was great. At 55, I know I am not the target audience and that's fine with me

Considering the fact that cable and network television are slowly (or in some cases quickly) dying, increasing the audience is a pretty good feat.

Blast from the past.

The infamous 1975 streaker Grey Cup. It's actually somewhat difficult to tell unless you are paying attention. She enters and takes a few bows (screen left) at 26:32 and then the camera pans over and catches her at 27:27 before quickly panning back. Then you see some men come on the field and take her away.

Geez, I just noticed she got on the screen at 24:48 during the coin toss and nobody cares. Back at 25:10 and 27:27 so she was running around the field naked for at least three minutes and no one cares. Times were sure different then.
