Beginning the long process to seeing this tower completed, New Building permits have been filed. Number obviously not the height, but it is exciting to begin this process!

Assuming vehicular access is either at street level or below it really looked like the highest occupied floor was more like ~1,250' from the renderings, unless the parking garage goes above street level.

They’re not saying it’s the highest occupied floor.

I don't think it's known for sure, but remember it was originally 1,350', but it would be a bummer if it were the exact height of 270 or 432.

It says it's between the highest floor and lowest vehicular access so the highest occupied floor would probably be even lower than that figure. We were shown around 1,250' in a diagram a ways back for occupied height (will try to dig it up).

That's why there's speculation of a height chop.

Obviously will wait for official info, could be something else.

There’s speculation of a height drop because you people are ridiculous.

Anytime you mention even the potential of a height drop, NYGuy freaks out.

And the evidence was right there, I know it's disappointing but I think this will make it more likely to actually get built.

What really bothers me is the plateau it will create, and the fact that this is the most likely of all NY's future supertalls to get built.

175 Park Avenue will probably never happen but if it does it will look less cool as the only 1,600 footer on Park Avenue, provided it doesn't also get shortened.

I hope we hear some good news regarding another project to make up for this. It's only a matter of time before 1,400 footers drop out of the top 50 globally.

I mean the evidence really wasn't there tho lol. Every single interview, press release and rendering showed this tower being at least 200 feet taller than 270 Park. Like painfully obviously taller.

Also "175 Park Avenue will probably never happen" lol what? Are we just making stuff up now?

Yes it was, an occupied height of 1,112' is ~130 feet lower than before. Those renderings are older, the design and height changes.

175 Park is insanely expensive, it may happen but I'm not holding my breath.

That screenshot did not say that was the highest occupied height; that's what you took from it. It could be, but until official documentation comes out saying that, then it's not the case.

Any skyscraper can be cancelled. 175 Park is far from the one I'm most worried about. It is insanely expensive yes, but imo it's the best development site in Midtown besides directly next to Penn Station. I'm not worried about it getting completed.

Sure.

The filings for this building have only just begun. You WILL get the height of the building in the zoning diagram.

I think 1,585' is and always was the envelope or maximum height, 1,414' is the height they're actually going with it seems (economics and whatnot).

Was looking forward to seeing Central Park Tower get dethroned

I would love to be wrong obviously so I'm curious how you interpret it.

So this is just an initial filing that’s expected to grow?
