I would like Transit Live to get updated with where the transit stops will be now semi-permanently instead of just calling it a detour at present. All the signage on the bus was talking about it just being temporary and the "detour" overlays on the app get in the way of clicking on stops.

Zoning application up for roughly doubling the size of Rosewood Park on north Courtney. Includes converting a few high rise parcels to low rise (parcel sizes staying the same so probably intended for 2 story multi-unit), and allocating a space for moving the storm water pond.
Is anything planned for that Albert and 11th intersection, where the buildings are coming down? I must have missed that.
The owners have now assembled the entire city block, including the Empire Hotel. I am sure they would love to see a new arena or hotel there, but I am pretty sure this is all on spec.

Ground was broken on Fire Station No. 8 on Friday, and the city’s fire chief says the new station will help reduce response times in southeast Regina.
Fire Station No. 8 is located at 5051 E. Primrose Green Drive at Chuka Boulevard. The “modern, fully equipped facility” is set to open early in 2027.

11th Avenue has now been mostly opened up to traffic. I was silly enough to just walk right in the middle of the street without looking around, then noticed a car out of the corner of my eye. Far enough away to be absolutely no risk... but it surprised be it was there after there being no traffic since May.
Lots of pedestrians crossing against the lights in the giant new crosswalk at Scarth. I actually have not seen anyone wait for the walk light.

It's too small a lot for even the Agridome (Brandt) Centre to fit on it so i don't think there's any plans for arena. Hotel would be good. But is there demand for anything? I sense parking lot for a long time.

I don't know... You could close McIntyre St and maybe shift part of Sask Drive to the north. Edit: I agree. the Brandt Centre is more than just orange dome. The lobbies, etc. jut out quite a bit further. Also 10,000 seats would probably add several metres on each side.

Agreed you could close McIntyre. You could also probably move Rawlco into a new arena building. There's plenty of other lawyer space in the city for Merchant Law Group. I'm not sure what is in the other building on the McIntyre to Smith block, but that might give some space. I don't think realigning Saskatchewan Drive is an easy one. There's not a lot of space before the big puddle really.

This is one of the most significant pieces of land for redevelopment in downtown Regina maybe something is brewing
Regarding that 1700 block of Albert parcel, I have heard second-hand, but from a reliable source that it was bought on spec and there is currently no plan for development. They are keeping the offsale open as it brings in venue and not tearing down the hotel until they develop something else. I expect it will sit for a while, but hopefully apartments and/or a hotel with main floor retail is eventually built there. Brandt Centre 2.0 is likely too big for that block without significantly altering SK drive (not likely) and will probably end up in The Yards or the 1800 Broad/Rose block.
From the Ring Road yesterday I saw piles of dirt south of the Riverside Cemetery. A somewhat large area might have been cleared, but it was difficult to tell with a uniform layer of snow. I'll have to go check that out this week. Last year someone had mentioned talking to surveyors who said there were plans to build housing back there. Official community plan has that in the same development phase as the Towns.
The piles were inside the cemetery fence in an area they pile dirt.
Tore down more of the building at Albert and 11th, no work being done when I went past. Hopper cars and tanker cars at the Cargill plant.
Cargill has to directly load train cars with grain auger to haul to Clavet or elsewhere. They had canola purchased for November delivery, but the plant isn’t ready to store or accept it.
Got windy today, which drains the batteries fast. When buying a DJI drone you definitely want the "fly more" combo with 3 batteries and external charger, which is much cheaper than adding a charger and extra batteries later.
Bulldozing in the Glen Elm trailer park, might have be hauling off top soil last week. Still some utility boxes in there but all the poles are gone. Pile drilling in the 3rd wing of the long term care foundation. Building vaults on each side of Wascana Creek in AE Wilson to convert between the concrete and plastic pipes at the creek crossing.
