The wind is starting to howl. This year has been the most bizarre of an increasingly bizarre stretch. Hearing the wind, seeing fog, has been rare. That's so unfamiliar to me. It feels like we were moved closer to the continent.

Amazing!! Also this week looks to be peak fall colours in the valley bottom.

Fall colours are just starting here in my area of Japan, but they tend to start turning fast now.

EC should put a weather station on Pelee Island. From the one personal weather station I found there, the first freeze was November 29 last year and October 31 the year before, so it could be a contender.

Better yet, they need to put one in Middle Island. I think it might be 1-2 degrees warmer in the colder months.

As for today's weather, absolutely disgusting day. 9C and rainy. It's of those super dark days as well. Add in gusty wind and you have a perfect recipe for a late fall like day.

October was around 2 degrees above normal in SW Ontario. My weather station means: 17.8 high, 8.5 low, 13.2 hourly mean. We got 40.6 mm of rain
