The Grand Coulee roundabout looks to be pretty much done. All the equipment is gone except 1 bulldozer. The only work being done was installing the permanent road markings.

When does construction of the truck stop begin?

That's it in the picture. Stormwater pond in the foreground and truck parking where the sand is being laid down.

Tender up for functional study of connecting Prince of Wales to Wascana Parkway. An actual project is likely many years away. Some photos from the tender pdf: https://imgur.com/a/juoHz77

Very windy today, got a few shots of Coopertown and Costco, I'll have to get videos on a calmer day. There was a big berm around Coopertown but they've been hauling off dirt from it for the past week. Maybe just excess left after smoothing out the berm. Definitely much lower than it was. The stuff they are hauling off is getting added to the west end. The recent pipe work at the Costco site was clearly water pipe since several new fire hydrants were added this week.

Interesting for sure but many of these maps seem extremely dated. Perhaps even before the Bypass route was settled.

I recall that George Gordon FN scooped up the old Ag Canada research farm as part of their Treaty land entitlement.

I have significant doubts on the FN land ever turning into a real development.

Such a stupid and very expensive project. Going through a federally protected wetland is going to add more complexity to it as well.

When I travel around and I see other communities I'll go into the middle of a small town and all of a sudden they have an amazing new arena."
Semple says multimillion-dollar Queen City Distillers complex will be Regina’s own 'House of Blues'
Story by CBC/Radio-Canada
I hope he’s looking around at the Brandt centre one of the ugliest hockey arenas around this billion dollar company could afford to build a new hockey palace

What to know as Brandt CEO unveils plans for new entertainment 'mega-project' in Regina
Story by Larissa Kurz •
‘One of a kind’ venue

Semple’s vision is big, to say the least. He wants to create “the greatest live music and entertainment complex in Canada,” he said Wednesday.

“Some people might view this as an exaggeration when I say that. I believe that great things can be achieved when people think big and when people pull together, and I believe in Regina.”
Michael Cafarelli said the mid-sized music hall fills an existing gap in Regina as a venue to attract up-and-coming artists — to the benefit of both musicians and concertgoers.

“The people of Regina should not have to go all the way to Edmonton or Calgary or Winnipeg, and certainly not Saskatoon, to see a great show,” he said.
Asked if his plans would be affected by replacing the Brandt Centre with a new arena in a different location — which has been suggested as recently as 2021 — Semple said that’s also been considered.

“We’re going ahead on the basis that eventually something will happen with the [arena] and that it will probably move,” he said.

The plan is to complete construction and have doors open by December 2026, which would be in time for the 2027 Grey Cup at Mosaic Stadium .

Semple said he didn’t know Regina was in the running for the CFL’s showcase event before he bid on this lease, but it’s a “bonus” for the potential success of his new venture.
He was asked if the Brandt Center would be replaced lol he said most likely something is planned
I believe he’s the richest person in Saskatchewan

I wonder if they will actually use a hopper bin for the sign. Seems appropriate and actually looks pretty cool.

A bit chilly today but the wind was light. Installing the concrete pipe on the north side of the creek in AE Wilson Park. Concrete pipe lined up in Westerra to extend a road to Sharp Park so they can start the business park area. Pretty late in the season the Westerra work will probably just be installing pipes, road building will have to wait for next year, at least the paving.

Its kind of annoying when I don't noticed something until after I copy the files onto my computer. I just noticed in the last image that there is a path running across the field behind Brandt. There is a fill stockpile over by the tracks so anything that isn't going on the top soil pile is probably being hauled over there.

Permit report added a 15th building for the Dewalt Ave project in Skyview.

Recorded a video around the Costco site. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAH5BVWH8wU

So Omagakii is a FN run pot shop that takes up a piece of that land beside Costco. Is that urban reserve land it sits on? I assume it is but Costco isn't?

It is Sakimay reserve land. It is across Pinkie Rd and not in the city limits. The Tim's is also on Sakimay. I believe they own the franchise.

You can see on this map how it is carved out.
