Sifton continues to work on the exterior finishing on their 8s Candela apartment building with cladding now being installed. Looks like most of the exterior brickwork is now done.

Have you seen anything else on the 1912 Linkway Boulevard site? The address suggests its on the north side of Riverbend road. There was a report on September 9th showing it as 1912 Linkway Blvd * Permit Not Submitted 207 units

Looks like they have also put more temporary parking on the corner between Candela and the Spektra buildings.

I haven't seen any work by Sifton on the next building. Would not be surprised to see them give West5 a rest for a while until they see the vacancy rate on their two latest buildings. Also Drewlo will be renting their 14s building now under construction south of West5 in 2027 which will bring more supply into the area. York and Westdell have two rental project proposals up for zoning as well which will add to the supply in the area when and if they get built.

What to watch for are move in bonus's being offered like 1 or 2 months free rent in order to get tenants. The Eve Park condos and Tricar Condos in the area still have vacant units for sale.

It appears that Sifton filed a building permit application today for their site at 1912 Linkway Blvd.

Still not sure what exactly the buildings will look like as I can't find anything about them on the West 5 website. It looks like the concept will be different than what was originally proposed because if you look at the master plan on the website, it says that it will be just apartment buildings at that corner of Riverbend/Linkway, yet they are now proposing a 1-storey commercial building as well: https://west5.ca/about/

There are no renderings or map details so I can't confirm what exactly it will look like or even where exactly it be. It has an address of 1912 Linkway Boulevard... which according to the City map is the entire large parcel of land north of Linkway between Riverbend Road and Logans Run... though if I had to guess, the building will likely be right at the north-east corner of Riverbend and Linkway (right across from the new park) as that spot is marked as "Coming Soon" on West 5's official map

Will be interesting to see when they release the plans, this was the original concept if you skip to 1:18 it shows a good view of this corner what was a 10 I think plus a single restaurant (which could not go there exactly now)

Landscaping is now underway on the 8s Candela building and they have now started renting. This building is wrapping up. No signs of starting any of the other planned buildings on the West5 site at the moment.

Plenty of activity since you posted this, not sure if the work is preparation for the 1912 Linkway Blvd site or if it is just generally cleaning up. I suspect its for the 1912 Linkway Blvd site as they have moved a bunch of dirt on the south side, created a new temporary parking lot on the that side of Linkway Blvd and on the north west corner.

Just to update this, I walked by last night and the new holding location they created on the south side of Linkway Blvd now has 3 heavy equipment sitting there as well as a stack of big blue pipe.

I would imagine this is all for the 1912 address which we should see something new on sooner than later

It looks like Sifton has also cleaned up some small trees and scrub in the empty field at the intersection of Oxford and Westdel Bourne.

They are definitely doing utility prep and installation work here with large storm and sanitary sewer line installation going in. The new road that will connect west to east appears to be the focus and will serve the new mid rise buildings and commercial buildings plus the high rise buildings planned for the SE corner across from the LTC Home. Those probably won't happen until next decade.

When built, this will finally start to really pull together their West 5 development. Hopefully, they get the corner opposite this one built soon as well, as once that's done, then all lots along West 5's main road (Riverbend Road) will be built out.

Will also be interesting to see what Sifton has planned for the rest of the area, especially that huge corner block right at Oxford/Commissioners/Kains as that block has the highest density zoning applied to it.

They have basic plans on their website for the project, though they do not keep the historical data of what was initially proposed much of it has been pretty close, look back in this thread there is lots of good information listed as well. This new 9 building and then the projected 12's across the street would really finish off that main area nicely.

Suspect the Oxford/Commissioners corner will be the last thing built and likely 10+years out.

It's nice to finally see a site-plan for this building.... I also see that a zoning application has been filed for this last week as well, so hopefully we will see some renderings soon.

As MrSlippery519 mentioned, it looks like there are some 10 to 12 storey buildings proposed across the street beside the park, and one between the recently constructed Spektra and Candela buildings. I’m really liking how West5 has been coming together over the past 10 years, especially the mixed-use section... looking forward to seeing the next few buildings get started.






Also, it looks like Sifton recently updated the master plan on the West5 website because this is the first time I am now seeing some plans for right at the north-east corner of Oxford and Westdel... which looks like some 1-storey retail pads. I wonder if we will see a grocery store here soon... I'd think it would do very well due to all the development out here at West5, Riverbend, etc (and Komoka-Kilworth as well).

Noticed the updated plans as well thanks for posting here also!

The north-east corner of Oxford and Westdel you mentioned they were grading and moving dirt about 3 weeks ago and I thought nothing of it. This new plan certainly gives the impression those are also going to be starting sooner than later.

Also they have poured curbs part of the stretch on Linkway Blvd up to the corner of Logans runs and then heading west towards the new 9's building being proposed, they stopped short of Riverbend road assuming due to the construction access.

Noticed a construction trailer on site as of last week, they have been moving dirt all week on this corner (Riverbend / Linkway). Construction fence was up a few weeks ago, seems like they are moving along quickly.

A caisson drilling rig machine is now drilling new pilings for the 9s building on the NE corner of Linkway and Riverbend.

Also of note they have a roofing crew replacing the roof on the Riverstone Villas one story condos. These were just built a few years ago and they already need to have the roofs replaced. 🞵🞵🞵?

Caisson drilling rig continues to work the north end of the site. While excavator and shoring crew are starting to dig along the south side of the property.

Surprised we do not have actual renderings of this yet, as Jammer mentions they are going quick. Lots of activity early in the morning and throughout the day here, digging, shoring the southside, etc.
