I doubt they move the sign closer to the traffic lanes but they should change it to read something like Granville LEFT LANE, Fir/4th RIGHT LANE

I want to see their ridesrhip/pedestrian numbers on the connector. It'll be interesting to see how well it gets used next year once the weather gets better.

They'll need a support that spans the entire bridge deck in order to have signs over the proper lanes.

... and the exit to Fir St. is currently CLOSED for construction until late 2025.

If it were a highway, there would be a big orange [magnetic] 'sticker' blocking the Fir St. part.

It'd be a lot more inviting in the sunshine...

When I pass by on a non-rainy day, there are always people sitting at that "top of the bridge" bench. Fewer on the other benches though.

Better than the ones on Burrard covered in pigeon feces.

Bets on how long before a driver looking UP to read the sign doesn't notice the random bench in front of them and ploughs into it.

My guess: before 2025 is over.

The bench is a safety feature, we're counting on him hitting it before he hits a pedestrian or cyclist.

How is someone going to drive there when there are giant concrete barriers lining the road?

I actually also thought there was a lane of traffic running right beside it. It took me a moment.

You'd be very very surprised. How? They'll find a way in. Why? Stupidity.

This taxi driver will show us the way Taxi uses bike lane to cross Vancouver's Cambie Bridge... That is so funny to watch. The taxi driver would like to be going faster but there is a cyclist slowing him down.

I mean people will drive on sidewalks too. I've seen it on that Metro Vancouver learns to park and drive page on facebook.

I drove over Granville on a quiet Sunday afternoon and noticed again what a joke the reconfiguration will be. Just one lane going down the most popular route of straight south down Granville toward the airport. Two lanes devoted to going off to the West Side. Needless to say the one though lane was backed up while the two lanes heading west had nobody in them.

Is using Fir to 16th then back to Granville faster than staying on Granville?

Fir's often backed up all the way to the off-ramp; doubt you're saving much time.

Technically it's probably faster since you have a zero chance of hitting a light until Broadway and no buses. Then you have less lights to 16th with less pedestrian traffic than Granville, less people taking left turns and parallel parking.

Yeah it's not really representative right now with the Fir Off-ramp closed.
