JPMorganChase Celebrates Grand Opening of New Global Headquarters at 270 Park Avenue
JPMorganChase opened its new global headquarters at 270 Park Avenue, marking a major milestone in its commitment to New York City.

October 21, 2025

Quote:
-JPMorganChase is one of New York City’s largest employers and contributors to the local economy.

-JPMorganChase Tower will be home to 10,000 employees by year-end, as part of the firm’s broader investment in Midtown Manhattan.

-The project created 8,000 construction jobs across 40 local unions.

-A new study by Vista Site Selection shows JPMorganChase contributes $42 billion annually to the city’s economy, supporting an additional 40,000 jobs across local industries.

-The new tower features 2.5 times more outdoor public space than the previous building and redefines the modern workplace with state-of-the-art technology and world-class amenities for employees and clients.

-As New York City’s largest all-electric tower with net zero operational emissions, the headquarters sets new standards in building sustainability, health, and wellness.

Boosting New York City’s economy

JPMorganChase remains one of the city’s largest employers, with the new building housing 10,000 of its 24,000 New York City employees. According to an independent study by Vista Site Selection, the firm contributes $42 billion annually to the city’s economy, supporting an additional 40,000 jobs across local industries. The construction of the new building alone created 8,000 jobs across 40 local unions.

Part of firm’s broader investment in Midtown Manhattan and workspaces globally

The new headquarters at 270 Park represents a major step in JPMorganChase’s ongoing investment in Midtown Manhattan and its global office network. In Midtown, the firm worked closely with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to significantly improve the neighborhood’s infrastructure across several blocks. The opening of 270 Park also marks the start of renovations at the firm’s 383 Madison Avenue building, directly across the street. Both projects will enhance public spaces with a new plaza on Madison Avenue, wider sidewalks, and improved access to Grand Central Terminal.
Quote:
Setting a new standard for office towers

The 60-story skyscraper reimagines the workplace for employees, clients, and the community. Key features include:

-2.5 million square feet of dynamic workspace and collaboration areas, including 285,000 square feet of dedicated client entertainment space, powered by smart technology and advanced infrastructure.

-Innovative fan column structure and triangular bracing create 2.5 times more public space at street level than the previous building, including wider sidewalks, and a public plaza on Madison Avenue.

-Vibrant streetscape and outdoor amenities create a ‘city within a city’ for residents, workers, and visitors.

-A welcoming lobby, eight expansive trading floors, a triple-height ‘Exchange’ hub for dining and large gatherings, and a world-class client center at the top.

-Touchless journey for employees with more than 50,000 connected devices delivering a seamless, data-driven experience.

-Higher ceilings that far exceed typical office standards, along with 50% more communal spaces, and 25% more volume of space per person.

-Split elevator core and shuttle elevators enhance connectivity and flexibility.

-Column-free floor plates allow for adaptable layouts.

-Outdoor terraces with natural plantings and biophilic design elements.
Quote:
“The official opening of JPMorganChase’s new global headquarters does more than add a signature building to Manhattan’s skyline – it reaffirms New York as the world’s financial capital, built on the strength of our workforce and infrastructure. Even better,

270 Park Avenue delivers benefits beyond its four walls, with critical investments to modernize the Grand Central train shed, ensuring safer, faster commutes for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers. I commend Jamie Dimon and the JPMorganChase Operating Committee for their steadfast commitment to New York and the men and women for making this vision a reality. There is no better place to do business than New York.

Kathy Hochul
New York State Governor

JPMorgan opens towering $3 billion headquarters on Park Avenue

AARON ELSTEIN
October 21, 2025

Quote:
JPMorgan Chase consecrated its new financial temple on Tuesday, a towering 60-story headquarters on Park Avenue that serves as a fresh reminder that New York remains the world’s capital of capital.

The new tower “sends an extraordinary signal of confidence, I might even add New York audacity, boldness and ambition. This is the future,” declared Gov. Kathy Hochul, one of many elected and civic leaders to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony although Mayor Eric Adams did not.

Superlatives rolled easily off the tongues of all who spoke at the hour-long ceremony inside the $3 billion tower for the $4 trillion-in-assets bank. The building sends unmistakable messages of massiveness, permanence and patriotism, with giant bronze beams in the lobby flanking an American flag flapping in a machine-generated breeze.
Quote:
The tower will house 10,000 workers. CEO Jamie Dimon proudly said his bank employs 25,000 New Yorkers and serves 3 million New York customers and 1 million area small businesses. He praised the building’s 8,000 construction workers for skills decidedly out of the bank’s sweet spot.
Quote:
JPMorgan’s 2.5 million-square-foot tower is New York’s biggest to open since 1 Vanderbilt Ave. four years ago; nothing as big is under development anywhere in the city. The tower rises above its Midtown neighbors thanks to a zoning change approved by the city in 2017. It got an additional boost from tens of millions of dollars worth of air rights acquired from St. Patrick’s Cathedral, St. Bartholomew’s Church and Central Synagogue.

Dimon said his bank’s next big real estate project is renovating 383 Madison Ave., the former Bear Stearns headquarters that housed JPMorgan executives while their old building at 270 Park Ave. was demolished and replaced. The global bank bought another nearby tower a couple of years ago and is turning the blocks on Park immediately north of Grand Central Terminal into a giant corporate campus.

Forgive me if this has been asked and answered before, but is there going to be a jet of air that keeps that flag constantly blowing?

"Bedecked wall to wall with travertine limestone, the building's lobby comes complete with a 3D-printed bronze flagpole brandishing an American flag, which is blown by machines to match the wind speed outside."

It looks like the lights on the sides of the building go all the way to the base? I thought they cheaped out and stopped the lights below the 2nd setback...

The brighter lighting is on the top 3 tiers of the columns, but the dim and warmer lighting runs down to the base

im so undecided between that being epically cool or wacky.

This might be the best addition to the city's skyline - in terms of scale and design - in decades.

I feel like this is the realization of Norman Foster's diamond design for WTC2.
