What Is The Weather Today II (No Mercury Jockeying)

Chickadees are top tier in cuteness level with their small size, beautiful pattern and eyes and charming bird call. Plus, they feed from your hand in many parks where they are used to it or conditioned to. It's a pleasure just to watch them at the feeder.

Downy woodpeckers have a very cute face and it's fascinating to watch them at the feeder. They also feed from your hand at the same places as the chickadees.

Blue jays are majestic and a pleasure to watch. And they will feed from your hand at one place I know, which is Lynde Shores in Whitby. But they don't land and pick the peanut. They drop down onto you and swipe the peanut all in one motion. They are not comfortable with people like the other birds mentioned. Though, perhaps they are in other places as my sample size is small. Blue jays sound tough with their call but are actually little pussies. Hard to get close to them and I see other birds or animals chase them away all the time. But yeah, they are still smart. And of course we know how smart crows are. But their call is one of the most annoying in the bird kingdom and will wake your ass up at 6am.

Yeah I've had grey jays eat from my hand at our childhood cabin, but never Blue Jays.

Low of 16C this morning. Plenty of sunshine so the day was perfectly enjoyable early on.

The warmspot was Ingonish Bay, NS at 29.6C. I think we are done with 30C this year for real now.

Warmest low was Grand Etang, NS at 17.2C.

I did it! Finally got the equal payment plan adjustment from Newfoundland Power. My electricity bill (includes heating here) is dropping from $181/month to $138/month. Yay!

Wednesday was a pleasant day around downtown Vancouver. Cool and dry with a mix of sun and cloud.

The high at Vancouver Harbour was 14 C, the low was 11 C.

Originally we were supposed to be flirting with frost tonight, but they have increased the expected low temperature now to +3C, so, Moncton may be safe for another week.
