Lots of potential work in and around Kamloops if the Trans Mountain optimization goes ahead.

They might end up being the cities largest tax payer. These number likely don't capture the increased taxes from the original expansion completed in May 2024.

Optimization?

They just added a second pipeline. How the hell are they already going back to upgrade the system?

What a waste of money. Instead of performing this work when there are resources there, let's demobilize and mobilize again at another time. This is why governments cannot be allowed to run companies. Zero fiscal responsibility when a money printer is readily available.

The PMO office announced yesterday that Canada is 12-18 months from bankruptcy.

Anyone who thought it was a good idea to vote Liberal should be committed.

Tournament Inn demolition is now officially underway.
They were prepping the site for months. How much asbestos must of been in there to take that long??

And that's why fires mysteriously happen during demolition, haha. Good riddance to that dump!

I see one of Rhino's job has officially started too. 400 Tranquille was excavating today. Nice to see that one finally getting started.

And Rhino, anyone stupid enough to vote for the liberals after 10 years of them destroying this country will never change. I've given up on these people, they're in a cult.

New rendering of the 400 Tranquille apartment building going up

[url=https://flic.kr/p/2rx5Km2]IMG_6599

It will finally be nice to see something on this plot as it has been empty since the day I moved here 9 years ago lol

Awesome, thanks for posting and I totally agree. That has been a dirt lot forever. I actually don't hate it. The brick at street level and awning details save it for me. Too bad it wasn't stucco instead of hardie board, but if they at least match the frames to the panels it should look alright.

That not bad at all. Happy to see the last two old dirt lots going this year with the Innova covering the other one.

Anybody knows what's going on behind the ESSO on Paul Lake Road? Big crane and heavy equipment on site.

I believe it's a rebuild of the bridge across Paul Creek.

TRU pedestrian overpass was shelved as TRU is going broke. How dumb is that? Did TRU not make enough money from these international students who paid to run this university? haha

Just like our government, these universities have too many useless high paying administrative positions that should never exist in the first place. The ratio of administration vs teachers in schools, vs doctors in hospitals, etc has ballooned out of control. Slash all the fat and operate these entities like the private sector would do with the goal of making money and reinvesting.

Like I argued before, they want it fancy.
No fancy. No build.
There's multiple road overpasses in Kamloops that are absolutely institutional in design but likely cost a fraction of the price.

Interesting.... When I called them over the bridge, they swore up and down they were ready to go and it was the city holding everything up. So typical of a certain class of people blaming others rather then taking responsibility and just admitting to mistakes.

Thought this was dead....

Council okays 344-unit housing development for Ord Road

Apparently its a go ahead now, and Nancy Bepple even approves of it.
The only retractor was the Honorable Hammer Man.

Canary Lofts looks to have another 2 floors to go.

City Gardens 3rd building is farther along than I expected. Hadn't been downtown in awhile and seems like now that the parkade/foundations are all done the remaining buildings will feel like they go up quick.
2nd tower looks to be about 2 floors away from topping out. Railings are starting to go up on the 1st tower as well. I didn't expect it to be frameless glass across the whole balcony. The renders show a sold portion for the wave up the side. I wonder if they're going to just tint the glass in place, instead of solid sections?

You have to take your hat off to Kelson, in the climate a lot of builders would have just squashed the project but they are pushing ahead.
