Story earlier in the year said they had $2.5 million owed to contractors. So $3 million will just cover work already done.

A boondoggle for sure and a textbook example on how not to do affordable housing. As I keep saying, this money could have housed hundreds rather than fulfilling someone's idealistic vision.

What Canada (and the US) need is government housing blocks, similar to the 60s and 70s. Bring back concrete apartment buildings with hundreds of units, but update them a bit to modern standards (a bit more square footage, ample green space, etc). Make 200+ buildings across Canada with the same design, materials, etc.

If anyone here has been to Europe (especially central and eastern Europe), you can see how government blocks work quite well for both density and affordable housing for large number of people. You don't need to make them look Soviet, either, lol.

Courtney was still open today so that closure was postponed. Starting work on the Wascana Creek Crossing for the new sewage line, building up dirt first before they dig a hole to ram a sleeve under the creek. Grand Coulee exit donut poured. Work on road to the north is including the access for the future truck stop. Large area of crop cleared so that is probably the truck stop lot. Pile drilling finished at the second Harbour Landing school, and pile of structural steel is growing. Starting to build roads for the Dewalt Ave project which now totals 12 building permits.

It could just be that water, sewage and power are beside each other and different crews handle each and can't work at the same time.

For years I've heard the company Suncor come up. A search indicates they operate Petro Canada branded stations. It would be on the right where that entrance off the main road is being built. A large area of crop has been harvested earlier than rest of the field there.

Saw that before I left this afternoon so I took videos of both.

It looks like the storm drain pipe for Arens is in all the way to Anaquod Road so it should be ready to build the road. They were hammering in sheet piles in AE Wilson park to hold back the dirt when they start installing pipe under the creek.

Yikes. I am sure it will look nice, but I can't see it being anything other than traffic disaster. no bus lanes and no turning lanes.

Good thing this isn't a major throughfare. That is what Victoria Ave & Sask Drive are for.

Maybe if they'd stop working on Sask Drive every fucking year it could be an easy way through downtown.

Umm it is the major bus route. Also it is arguably the main business street downtown

To where? Not 12th or Sask Drive as they aren't set up for bus stops or routes.
