The problem is they dont slow down especially city worker trucks and when they hit the speed bump at such a high-speed it shakes my house where you wonder if it can handle it

I'm always amazed how they are able to turn those ships. Especially with a ship berthed at the container terminal. The harbour almost appears too narrow. Azipods have been a real game changer.

On a separate note, being closest to the water and having views out the harbour, I'm a little surprised they didn't choose to locate a larger building on the SW corner of Fundy Quay.

I would have preferred Fundy Quay was all low-rise and that the tall buildings were saved for the lands around King Square or on Union Street. I’ve always liked the juxtaposition of the tall buildings with the comparatively tiny historical building on Water Street. I had posted some 3D massing diagrams of the future skyline many months ago and couldn’t figure out where the best vantage point of the skyline will be from because Fundy Quay will ultimately ‘block’ the classic view.

I hadn't considered that but I see your point. OTOH won't the taller buildings of Fundy Quay add to and be a continuation of the City Hall/Brunswick House/Brunswick Sq. skyline as seen from that classis view from approaching the Harbour Bridge?

Footings are poured for the 35-unit on Crown between Princess and Leinster. They're moving fast. I think someone said this up-thread, but for a 6-floor building, it'll have a decent impact on the skyline from the east.

It will have an impact for sure. The way the first floor is raised would make it seem taller then a 6 story looking from the east.

Developer frustrated by two break-ins within 48 hours

Adam Pottle hasn’t had much sleep in the last few days since his construction site was broken into twice within the span of 48 hours.

The Saint John developer says thieves made off with new windows and some of his contractor’s tools late into the evening on Sept. 20 after a ladder was used to access the third floor of the single-family home he’s building in the city’s south end.

Only two days later, Pottle says Saint John police officers caught thieves, of no fixed address, on his property in the early morning hours thanks to a neighbour’s alert dog.

By that point, Pottle says thieves had torn out $3,000 worth of electrical wiring in the house and left behind a bag of meth pipes and burglary tools.

As arrests were made, Pottle says he exchanged words with the two suspects who told him if he had a problem, he should “come see us on Waterloo.”

Putting Meth heads in jail for a year for theft won't help their addiction but it will ensure they aren't breaking into people's cars or homes for that year.

There was an extension ladder at the Haymarket site earlier in the week - may not be the same gang, but this is not a good thing for people nearby.

Every encampment site littered with loot, gathered up using stolen shopping carts and tools. It's ridiculous what is being permitted.

Millidgeville Superstore got 60 of those smaller, more compact shopping carts to replace ones that had been stolen. This was about six months ago. They are mostly gone.
