Super odd that this is not a direct flight, and has a stop over at LAX. I wonder if the passengers actually disembark? Are additional passengers let on? The flight back from Taiwan is direct to Phoenix...but not going.

Yes, very strange. Is it a triangular route with Los Angeles passengers having to stop first in Phoenix on the way east, just as Phoenix passengers have to stop in L.A. on the way west?

Starlux has opened bookings for TPE-PHX-TPE, now available on Starlux-airlines.com. It also appears JX service will operate four weekly flights from the month of March (Saturday service added).

From nothing to almost a daily flight to Asia on two carriers. Just amazing. Now we need sky harbor to add some wide body gates to accommodate the expansion. Fingers crossed for JAL to add TYO or another European carrier to replace the loss of the Condor non-stop Frankfurt flight.

I have an idea. PHX T4 parking garage and the parking is so full. Will they ever add more level 10, 11, 12 parking garage? That way they will have more people who parked at PHX T4 parking garage. Because there are a lot of people who are traveling. Will they ever consider it? Will they able to added level 10, 11, 12 parking garage?

I think it would make more sense to replace some of the space devoted to East Economy surface parking with additional garages. I seem to recall there was originally a plan to put four garages there. Right now, we have two: A and B. It would be possible to add C and D next to them with passengers using the existing SkyTrain station to connect to the terminals.

While they're at it, the 24th St station needs a large garage too. They could mitigate construction by adding more surface spots.

DALLAS- Southwest Airlines (WN) is considering significant changes, including potential Europe flights from hubs such as Baltimore (BWI), Nashville (BNA), and Phoenix (PHX).

Chief executive Robert Jordan confirmed the airline is reviewing new service models that could extend beyond its current Boeing 737 only fleet.

Speaking on 9 September at the US Chamber of Commerce Global Aviation Summit in Washington, DC (DCA), Jordan emphasized that serving Europe would require a different aircraft type.

He noted no timeline is set, but said Southwest remains open to rethinking long-standing policies.

I'm surprised by the timing since travel by Canadians to the U.S. has decreased substantially this year. If they can make it work, good for them. I don't think there has ever been nonstop service between Ottawa and Phoenix before.

Canadian travel to Arizona has long been dependent on oil prices which can dramatically swing the economy in our closest Canadian city: Calgary. It's clear we've seen a dip due to politics or tariffs or something, but I doubt it's sticky. It reminds me of every time there is a dip in tourism to a particular area in Mexico and the predictions of doom. Americans won't stop going to Mexico either for travel provided there are reasonably safe areas.

No, it's not. They never had any nonstop flight from PHX to YOW. It's first-ever nonstop flights. Hope they success!

The Federal Aviation Administration recently told Phoenix Aviation Department staff that a comprehensive environmental impact statement submitted in 2006, which included plans for a new terminal, was sufficient to move on to the next steps of planning for Sky Harbor's upcoming West Terminal. Their original timetable for the terminal suggested the project would go through the FAA's review process from 2025 to 2031.

It could now open by 2033, three years ahead of schedule, according to Phoenix Aviation Director Chad Makovsky.
