This could well be the most prominent project in Vancouver's recent history. Looking forward to approval and construction.

Defnitely. Perhaps a few 60-80 stories along Broadway Corridor eh?

Just noticed this CTV News report on the new tower from May had a bunch of the models shown including the one that incorporated Dunsmuir House into one of the other towers.

Just looking at the base of the tower floorplan and I'm guessing it's around 15,500 sq feet floorplates at ground.

The observation deck (3 levels) was 30,000 square feet but I'm not sure how they are taking into account the trees growing up between all the levels.

The 70,000 square feet of conference space over five floors is ~14,000 square feet floorplates either at the base or 25 stories up.

69 dude!! The Bay Parkade proposal is 80 stories and they are both hotel proposals, so I'm not sure how 69 stories beats out 80 stories.

So 3m shorter than the Stantec tower. This wouldn't even be the tallest in Western Canada today.

The first 5 floors of the Calgary tower are double or triple heights compared to the upper floors. That's what you can achieve when you have little or no height restrictions.

No formal information on the height yet. DP hasn't been submitted yet

But some are speculating 300m+

Dunsmuir House site by me today:

Could easily be paved for parking, or become a community park?

I think that was just meant to fulfill the requirement to cover in the basement. I doubt they'll do anything with the site in the meantime.

Surely we'll see one of Vancouver's cherished community gardens take root here.

No height limits in Surrey I can see them having the tallest in Western Canada one day.

The City of Vancouver has received an application to rezone the subject site from the DD (Downtown) District to CD-1 (Comprehensive Development) District. The proposal is to allow for the development of a 79-storey (south) and a 63-storey (north) mixed-use residential building, and it includes:

A floor space ratio (FSR) of 31.29; and
A building height of 271.0 m (889 ft.) with additional height for rooftop amenity space.
This application is being considered under the Downtown Rezoning Policy(External link).

This application is being processed and reviewed concurrently with the application to rezone 575-595 W Georgia St and 620-692 Seymour St, & 388 Abbott St. The application proposes to transfer ownership of the building at 388 Abbot Street to the City.

it would be just like Holborn to fast track this into a sinking market after dragging their feet on Little Mountain and totally missing an unprecedented housing bubble.

Does this mean we won't get one of our cherished community gardens on the site of the Dunsmuir Hotel?

I think it'll be 3-4 years until they would break ground on the main lots - but I don't see anything referring to phases
