Beautiful day, sunny and 21.7 with a low of 6.7, which is very low for August. Yesterday's high was only 19.7, first time the high was less than 20 since June 2 (which also the last low below 10).

Thursday, Friday and Saturday temperatures set records for Minimum High Temperature and Minimum Temperature at several weather stations in southern Ontario

We've been suffering so BC and the West can have their heat wave.
18C today. Rain until 2PM then sun. First sub 20C high since June 13th. Streak of 77 consecutive days is over.

Low of 12C this morning. Temperature stayed in that range until it cleared around bit. It was still 12C at 11AM. Pathetic.

The warmspot was Fort Smith, NWT at 35.3C.

Warmest low was Victoria Beach, MB at 20.7C

The very heavy rain is over, and it's sunny again without the worry.

A chilly 16C in Moncton at noontime and partly cloudy, with an expected high of 23C. The wind is out of the north however and I have trouble believing we will actually get there.

We had some rain yesterday afternoon, but, again, it was only a few mm.

A pigeon got into my house. It didn't cause any damage, and I got to hold it to carry it downstairs and let it free. Love!

AND two b'ys I know are running for council this year! Fingers crossed.

Nice day. Warm and sunny. Checked out Doube's Trestle Bridge, which is an old railway bridge that is now part of the Kawartha Trail between Omemee and Fowlers Corners. Great views.

This is for Megadude. Rocky the snake. Add a rock and he grows.

It is. I've been using the D850 for seven years, so it was time to upgrade. I needed a true hybrid camera for video shoots.

I remember the D40x. It was a big deal at the time. I was using the Nikon D200 in those days.

It's worth it for professional photographers, I've been through four cameras, and now I've been using a Pixel 8 Pro instead. I'm not sure it's easy to tell the difference for most people, the convenience is great, since I always have it with me. I miss some features of a real camera, but I also felt that way with the switch to digital way back, the absence of quick manual adjustment. Your photos are beautiful, but I'm guessing you also do some post processing on your photos?

Thanks. I shoot in RAW, so every photo gets a pass through Lightroom for resizing. I usually do some colour adjustments and may add some contrast or vignetting. Overall, I do a minimal amount of editing.
My general rule of thumb is if it takes more than a couple of minutes do edit a photo, it probably isn't a good photo to begin with.

Well I use a Samsung Galaxy S24, lol. Just the regular phone, not the Ultra. Ultra has the better lenses.

Damn beautiful evening.

Still much cooler than normal, but few complaints,.as it has been calm and sunny. Very pleasant weather and still warm enough.

Some flowers in our yard, shot on a Pixel 8 Pro. (Haven't used a DSLR in years, though many times I wished I had it with me )

24C with a humidex of 28 and sunny. Finally a more typical day for this time of the year.

Low of 10C this morning. Still some leftover from the cold yesterday.

The warmspot was Lytton, BC at 36.0C

Warmest low was Oak Point Marine, MB at 21.0C.

Some very impressive cold in Ontario yesterday morning...
7.8C low in Toronto (YYZ), coldest August temperature since 1989.
6.5C low in Windsor, coldest August temperature since 1982 and 4th coldest Aug low EVER.

Makes me appreciate the 10C this morning a bit more.

If you told me you were using a DLSR, I would believe it. Great shots.

I've got the S23 FE and usually use it all the time. I actually brought my D40x to Manitoba in July fully thinking I would take some snaps with it, but it just sat in my suitcase the entire time. I guess I am just too lazy in my old age to be bothered with transferring an SD card to a computer and offloading pics when I can post things instantly from my phone.

Great pics everyone.

26C with a humidex of 28 and sunny. Some very thin cirrus clouds at some point this afternoon (as seen on the pics). Once again, it's a relatively dry heat.

Decent start to September.

The pictures does not do justice how pretty the sunset was.

Low of 14C this morning.

The warmspot was Lillooet, BC at 38.6C

Warmest low was McCreary, MB at 20.2C

Some numbers to track for the upcoming historic heatwave:
BC all-time September high: 39.6C (Lytton, 2022)
Alberta all-time September high: 38.4C (Medicine Hat, 2022)
NWT all-time September high: 33.1C (Yohin Lake 2017)
YT all-time September high: 27.8C (Watson Lake 1951 and Faro & Ross River 1974)
Canada all-time September high: 40.0C (Morden, MB 1906 and Lost River, SK 1940)
