They've got some other art at that airport which you might also like.

FTR I actually love all the horror themed art. Maybe I could enter Clockzilla into their next request for artwork.

They seem to have a sense of humour about it at least:

It's all dreadful schlock, imo. I appreciate a sense of humour, truly, but that stuff is just tacky, weird, and grotesque (not to mention a tad too explicit for the youngsters, with the nads and 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵), and not at all befitting of public art in a major airport (the world's largest airport).

Apparently security doesn’t allow people to go too close to it citing ‘safety’ concerns according to Reddit.

Well, sure, you might end up with a "Mr. Hands" scenario. (Why doesn't SSP have a barfing smiley?)

It’s crazy how Calgary’s skyline has basically doubled on the west end. I love the variety from that angle.

+1

Bubble wrapped children sheltered from the world become intolerant adults who freak out over anything and everything that's not censored and sanitized into oblivion. Children aren't natural prudes. Uptight parents instill puritan ideas into their children.

Love Calgary's ever growing density!

What's in the foreground in that first Montreal pic?

That's the Port of Montreal Tower at Grand Quay. Great shot, perfect weather and timing.

You don't understand though. If we allow stuff like that then before you know it, animals will be walking around totally buck naked in public - and even relieving themselves without any sense of modesty! And what if children are present? Won't someone please think of the children?!?

So much of its population and retail is spread out over a huge area and their downtown also has a much larger ratio of office buildings to residential than the big 3 Canadian metros.
I spent a lot of time wandering around downtown a couple of times on week nights and on a Saturday, and was very quiet. The vibrancy seems to be pinpointed to certain specific areas that are not really near each other. My friend took me to a few different places around the city. Wrigleyville, North Rush, Michigan Ave, A neighborhood called Bridgeport. They all have some decent vibrancy, but there far apart from each other. So many streets seemed to be completely absent of people.
Not to dump on Chicago, but I was surprised how quiet it was for such a large city.
Hard disagree. I just got back from Chicago, and I was blown away by the vibrancy all over the central area, from South Loop to way beyond the northern fringes of the Magnificent Mile. The wealth on display is also several levels higher than what I have seen in any Canadian city. The pedestrian traffic was on par with Montreal's famous Rue Ste. Catherine on a summer afternoon. And the architecture blows any Canadian city clear out of the water. Beaten only by New York City.
