Have to admit as someone who used to live in Edmonton, the city today kind of baffles me. It seem like there is very little going on there based on the posts I see here. In fact it seems like there is FAR more going on in Kelowna then Edmonton.

42,000 people/families moved to the City of Edmonton last year and are finding employment and gobbling up housing. That is what is happening here.

To paraphrase that old saying - Kelowna is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

Depends where you look.

Lots of small-scale infill, TONS of greenfield and yet very, very limited larger-scale multi-fam in Central Edmonton.

It is what it is, but there are a selection of projects forthcoming.

Speaking of infill, do we know the Occupancy date for the towers on the Scona Parking lot and the Station Lands will be? Or the old Inglewood hospital

Beljan's seacan project on Whyte looks to be shaping up nicely.

I'm doing a September bike tour of new sites while I'm in town if anyone has recommendations.

I wouldn't expect Dub to build a new tower at the Camsell Hospital site anytime soon - he's only just finishing up the new townhouse units there now.

Cidex's tower for phase 1 of the Scona lot should receive occupancy perhaps Q1 2026 if I was a betting man.

Station Lands, the midrise building is leasing up well, I have heard 75% full recently, so when it's close to 100% maybe Qualico will move on the tower (which they applied for more height and units, which shows you that they think the demand is there).

There used to be a lot of images and pictures of the projects going on that folks from out side the city could sift through and enjoy, seems there is far less of that here now. That was my point. You seem a little touchy EdmTrekker, maybe take a break and see the genuine question for what it is. A far better response was given by ColdSRX.

I think that's not because nothing is happening here (there is), it's because there aren't many locals on this forum anymore to post things.

That could be. It would be a shame to see happen here what took place with the Calgary threads.

I think both Calgary forumers, and to some extent here, are posting alot more on Skyrise Cities.

I can understand that. There is a certain vibe on this site that leans a very specific direction, shuts down debate and is openly hostile to anyone who doesn't agree with it.

I'm guilty. Been too busy with work, family and life in general.
