Hot and dry. There was a high of just over 29 this afternoon (no doubt hotter in the city centre) with only 35% humidity. It hasn't rained in many days, aside from a very brief thunderstorm last week, and things are turning brown. Quite a departure from the lush summer we'd been having until the end of July.

29C with a humidex of 32 and sunny. Like Kilgore said, it's hot and dry. The thunderstorm from a couple of days ago was very isolated. Downtown got hit a bit but YUL barely got anything. Officially we've had 2.8 mm since July 17th. Nothing this month so far.

Low of 16C this morning. The dryness is felt.

The warmspot was Royal Island, ON at 32.6C.

The warmest low was Port Weller, ON at 21.4C.

16C and sunny in Moncton at 11 AM, going up to 31C this afternoon.

The next five days in a row will be 30-32C.

Not a drop of rain in the forecast. This is getting serious. There is a forest fire in the Miramichi burning right now/

Wish we could send some of our endless rain over there. It feels like it’s been raining on near daily basis all summer long. Been struggling to get even 3-4 straight days of dry sunny weather.

The longest stretch of good summer weather I experienced this year was when I was in Nova Scotia a few weeks ago.

Well the up side has been less smoke and things are greener, it’s still rather depressing.

Rain is really needed. Everything is dry, really dry. That plus the smoke that seems to never really gone is putting a damper on what otherwise should be a very nice summer.
Yes, we really ned it. Bad. The rivers are running pretty low as is (I went tubing on the Credit River on Monday, and we had to walk parts of it as the rapids were anything but at points) - and where I volunteer in the Don Valley, you can see how must the river, which is already small, has shrunk with many rocky areas visible now. You can see many trees under stress now due to the lack of rainfall, heck the couple of native trees us stewards were trying to save last year in particular are getting closer to dangerously stressed.

I've hear we're getting a thunderstorm today so that's good.

It's partly cloudy in Vancouver today, with a forecast high of 23°C , and a humidex of 26°C at YVR.

RIP to my lawn. It was already half brown due to the drought and lack of shade, despite all my watering. The construction was the nail in the coffin. Though maybe that porta potty will make for good fertilizer.

30C with a humidex of 34 and sunny. A bit hazy. I will let it go this time since the sun was able to peak through.

Snapped some pics of just about the only clouds we saw today.

Low of 20C this morning. Not quite the super dry weather but not quite super humid too. That is reflected in the temperature.

The warmspot was Goose Bay, NFLD at 32.1C

Warmest low was Port Weller, ON at 22.1C.

Two weeks ago I noticed a stream that feeds Sixteen Mile Creek was bare except for a couple of puddles. Those puddles had dozens of minnows in them trapped. Can't imagine what it looks like now.

Sun, and smoke and 28 at just before noon. Highs near 31 today.

If the airport were to reach 30 again today it would be for the 3rd time this year. I don't believe St. John's has ever recorded 3 days in a year over 30 degrees.

Already 29C in Moncton at 11 AM and sunny.

Next four days are 30C, 31C, 31C and 32C.

No substantive rain in the seven day long range forecast.

There is a tropical wave developing in the Cape Verde region off the west African coast which bears watching for the long range.

Currently a 50% chance of hurricane formation and, the trajectory is concerning for North America.

Fires are still growing and forecast is getting worse.

The smoke is unreal.

^ The air quality is god awful out there today, it's a little nauseating. Been working out in the back yard for a bunch of the afternoon and I just feel sick to my stomach.

St. John's airport recording a high of 30.5 degrees through 3pm. I will have to look into it but I do think this is the first time ever we've had 3 official 30+ degree days in a year.

Sounds like this is the year so far that everyone is experiencing bad forest fire smoke except BC. What a turn around.

Finally back into Summerish temps after some Spring like cool wet weather. But then another cool down:

30 32 33 33 32 25 24

Heat warnings have just gone out for Lytton and Kamloops. But nothing really hot and nothing they or us haven't already hit this year. Sunday - Tuesday:

Lytton 36 36 35

Kamloops 35 35 34
