They already designed a new headquarters on the False Creek Flats, six years ago. That's what we assume they've decided to drop for the foreseeable future. Presumably at the time there weren't the same opportunities to get a lot of space in relatively new buildings Downtown, but with Microsoft consolidating into B6, that option is now available.

I suppose it depends where Lululemon's employees live.
Downtown is still the most accessible by transit and Pacific Centre is on 2 lines.

Now will they close their 2 downtown stores (Robson/Burrard & Pacific Centre) and consolidate a flagship into one of the 4 former Nordstrom spaces?

They opened a 12K sq foot Toronto flagship in 2024. Never been inside the Robson location so not sure how comparable the design is to the new Toronto store.

Crestpoint owns 800 Burrard, built 1983. I wonder what the development timeline is on for that property.

Was there a rumour that the condo part of that complex might be redeveloped?

Hearing some rumours about the former Nordstrom. A tenant with the initials HR might be relocating to a portion of the Nordstrom block. Such a move would also facilitate the redevelopment of the former hotel area. Rumours like that would make some sense?

Well even the old recladding proposal changed up the podium a lot so it's probably better not to be in that section of the mall while it gets redeveloped.

And Harry Rosen is refreshing all their stores so it probably makes sense on that front as well.

CF just sold West Pender Place to the north of HR.
If there were to be a wholesale redevelopment of the HR site (by CF) and the 777 Dunsmuir office tower, you'd think CF would have retained it. Remember HR is a block north of the hotel.

The Nordstrom would probably give them more space. It's a seedier site, but arguably closer to high end stores at Hotel Vancouver and Alberni St., but would need an entrance facing Howe, which the current plan for the big tenant may not have(?).

OH WAIT - Do you mean Harry Rosen, not Holt Renfrew?
That makes more sense and aligns with my previous thoughts of swing space for the retailers below the hotel build.

That would have to be at the Robson Howe corner or the Georgia plaza.

I wonder why this permit has all three levels for each of the new assigned addresses for the demising.

Quote:
Primary Location: 725 GRANVILLE STREET, Vancouver, BC

Specific Location: 799 Robson St - Retail (1st - 3rd Level)
791 Granville St - Retail (1st - 3rd Level)
735 Granville St - Retail (1st - 3rd Level)
731 Granville St - Retail (1st - 3rd Level)

799 Robson St has divided into 4 units, 731, 735 & 791 Granville St have been assigned to the newly created space and 799 Robson St retained for the remainder space. 799 Robson St & 731, 735 & 791 Granville St are to be posted as shown on the approved plans & clearly visible from the street prior to final inspection.

Work Description: Base building reconfiguration of existing 3-storey retail store to accommodate four new commercial retail units. Work includes new internal divisions and demising walls to create the CRU shell spaces, and a new external entry and vestibule from the Granville Street Plaza. All tenant work will be completed under separate building permit submissions.

This is a CP Process Permit and the applicant is Michael van Blokland, P.Eng., CP

Notes:
1. This permit has been reviewed under the 2019 Vancouver Building By-law (#12511) with amendments effective on March 1, 2025.
2. Part 11 upgrade triggers for major renovation and minor horizontal addition: F2, S2, N3, and A3.

STAGED CONSTRUCTION
Stage 1 - Full Construction (Under Review)

Type of Work: Addition / Alteration

Either a change in plans requiring more escalators or a mistake.

I could easily see an escalator from the main Georgia entrance vestibule up to the 2nd floor and one down to the 1st floor to make that a multi-storey space.

So does Patterson, who predicted La Maison Simons will take about half of the space, with other retailers — potentially grocer Eataly, among others — opening stores in the remainder.
And Oakridge Park mall not opening until Spring 2026

Apparently MNP has now moved into the old Canaccord Tower at 609 Granville.

I think it's 16-24 (excluding 18) going by the building permits

Originally, Fairgrounds had plans to open a [pickleball] facility at CF Pacific Centre Mall in downtown Vancouver last year, but that fizzled.
