I took a few shots of the entrance and then the back alley.

The entrance from the street is underwhelming, but functional and widens the sidewalk for a hot minute but the backside of the building fills out the alley nicely in my opinion.

Bryant St needs a serious road diet. 5 lanes of driving + 2 lanes of parking for a total of 7 lanes is insane. They should convert one into a bus only lane and put protected bike lanes on each side next to the sidewalks.

Agreed! Wider sidewalk too with 5x more trees. It‘ll help dampen the highway noise and provide shade for pedestrians. Living next to a highway doesn‘t mean you have to sacrifice a comfortable sidewalk.

Basically all of SoMa needs this. Bryant and Harrison are awful still and I think a lot of it is that Caltrans has ownership over on-ramp/off-ramp streets.

SFMTA has done good work on streets like Folsom and 2nd. They’re so much more humanized now. All of SoMa needs that.

Thanks for posting/grabbing pics! I've been curious to see how this one came together.

Unfortunately, watered-down and value-engineered finished projects are too common lately.

The landscaping and sidewalk treatment are especially sad, but at least those trees will eventually camouflage some of the weak points.

The good news is that because there’s only 125 parking spots for 501 units, that a vast majority of these people will opt for using transit and walking to get to destinations. This will add to the vibrancy of the area, hopefully reinvigorating nearby stalled projects, including the park next to 160 Freelon and the blighted parking lot just steps from 4th and Brannan station. Strada (the developer) has a few more cooking and I bet they’ll get started soon on their next landmark building.
