Negative comment by Whatnext in 3..2..1 He would like to see last call at 10 pm on Saturday night, so everybody is nice and fresh for Sunday bible study.
I am totally ok with that but i don't think the hours are the problem.

The problem is the fact that in an average bar here you are confined in your chair and you basically cannot socialize with anyone that is not with you already.

We need what every single place on the planet has, the "classic pub model" where you get a drink and you can walk around the place talking with people. Beside clubs i don't see bars and pubs doing this in Vancouver and i don't understand why.

When i go to europe there's people talking and socializing everywhere inside and around a bar, here you are just a money printing machine, they literally escort you to a table, you have to stay there, consume, the waiter keeps asking you if you want more until you're done and you're out.

This is fine if you just want to chat wth your friends, it's completely absurd if you want to socialize with people. And i am pretty sure this is the reason why the city got the "no fun city" name.
