Description: The developer proposes a 4-storey, 32-unit multi-family residential building on a 7,169 sq. ft. The unit mix comprises 5 barrier-free main-floor units, 5 three-bedroom two-storey townhomes, and 22 one-bedroom units. For those who where wondering about the materials, the stone is real and the brick is fake.

The stone along the ground floor is real. Above that is EIFS.

I wish the fake stone piece was the fake red brick too. It doesn’t look as convincing.

Will be interesting to watch how the styrofoam brick ages. It’s not terrible right now.

Regardless. Nice to see that lot get filled.

I agree that the fake brick looks more real than the fake stone. Especially because there is real stone right beneath the fake stone.

Not sure how successful they were in trying to make it look like a group of separate buildings. The dark section looks pretty low rent. The building is innocuous enough to blend in, though. Which was probably the goal. It looks slightly better in person. I hope to see storefront awnings and some greenery when it's complete.

i love the look of that building in that location. I may be downsizing and moving to that area in 3-4 years and wish it nothing but great prosperity!

When the building across the street starts to rise, you might have a nice little mini-urban canyon framing downtown. The scale of this building fits nicely in the area. Neat.

That’s because they chose to make the 1st level homogenous all the way across, which fights against the illusion of visual separation up top. If the black building had a different main floor cladding the illusion would’ve been more successful.

100% Just extending the dark cladding all the way down to the ground would do the trick.

New apt building on the corner of Marion and Des Meurons is rising nicely. I really like how different the intersection feels already.

Lol. Probably never. I drive past the building several times a week. The sign has been there for at least a year. I don't know what the deal is with that. Like we need another cannabis vendor anyway...

There is a freeze on new cannabis licensees until Dec 2025 as the Manitoba government is doing a review of new controlled access retailers.
