Actually, I received my message from SLC Facebook private message.

They will open up 5 more gates in 2025. But no more concessions until 2026. This is all!

Somehow I probably missed a previous explanation of this. Since I haven't been through the SLC Airport yet, could someone please clear this up for me? How does the previously opened River Tunnel relate to the now open Central Tunnel? The media seems to just confuse the issue between the two. Is there some sort of break between the two tunnels or is the 'Central Tunnel' just the completion of the previously opened in April 'River Tunnel'?

The river tunnel is the central tunnel. It was completed in April but not open for public use until last week.

Delta opened their new pilot training facility, which will have all SLC, LAX, SEA and MSP flight crews train there instead of having to go all the way to ATL. Currently has the 330 and 350 sims and will be adding a 737 sim in the spring and has space for six additional sims in the future. Great to have Delta continuing to invest this level of infrastructure here.

Do you think SLC is going to be a substantially bigger hub over time?

It did an impressive 27,000,000 passengers last year, vs. some major league city airports that did half that. The airport's last master plan predicted about 37,000,000 in 2037, a bit faster than population growth.

Do you think it might exceed that? Maybe closer competition to DEN?

The airport master plan also explains that due to the geographical constraints posed by the Salt Lake Valley, even with significant improvements to the runways and approach patterns, expansion beyond 1800 Aircraft Operations (~37,000,000 passengers) is not possible. I predict that if passenger counts ever approach that point you'll see a plateau at SLC and rapid growth in Ogden and Provo.

Some interesting comments from Ed Bastian. Summer schedules are coming out next weekend and it’s rumored to be quite a shakeup. Lots of underperforming intl flights from LAX are in discussion. Will be interesting to see if/how it affects SLC.

Delta adding a new SLC-Hawaii route with SLC-KOA. Only bummer is they are using 767-300ER without premium select, but still a great route to have running through SLC. Adds to existing Maui and Honolulu routes.

An overall capacity reduction seems imminent, with the now growing likelihood of some economic slowdown combined with major government budget reductions, which will affect a lot of sectors unfortunately.

Some aerial photographs released on the SLC Airport social media pages. These are large pics, so I hid them in spoiler tags.

In shocking news, Delta announces a seasonal daily flight from SLC to Lima. Lasts for only 1.5 months. Guessing if it does well, it will be renewed

Likely no coincidence this very short window is during peak asparagus season in Peru, so this is basically a cargo flight schedule that Delta is willing to scrape any bonus revenue from passengers on, but I'm a fan of any reason to test a route and see if it has long term viability!
