While out this morning I came across this building on 5th & Pasqua that burned earlier in the year. Looks like they might rebuild on top of the foundation which is also a garage. The buildings in the back are also part of the same structure. https://maps.app.goo.gl/VtRPNHwWdUa8zueB9

Wednesday morning I saw that Arens road is getting connected from Woodland Grove to Chuka Blvd, it will be a nice additional access point for that area.

Video circling around the SaskPower building. I flew over to the cardlock site from SaskPower, then going around the back side of SaskPower on the way back, that flight with the 2nd battery was 7.77 km. The drone has 118 km on it since I got it earlier in the year.

Video of a lap around the Cargill tracks, a 6.9km flight in sport mode that lets the drone get up to 60 km/h. Some controller interference a few times when the power lines were between me and the drone.

When is Cargill set to open thank you

Supposedly this year, I wouldn't be surprised if it slipped into next year. While trying to find current info I came across this presentation, it mentions the investment is nearly a billion, so a bit of cost overrun from the original 350 million estimate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxlQKa-O3ic

Watching the video it mentions that they were already issuing October delivery slots back when the presentation was given, so crushing or not they are going to start filling up their silos this year. They also talk about renewable energy exclusively, I wonder if the plant will really produce nothing but oil for fuel + animal feed.

I heard the long idle Kleins store at 1st N & Broad would be opening soon. When I was past there this morning the fence was still up, but I did noticed the lit display cases inside had drinks in them.

The new reservoirs are getting insulation installed. Park Street is getting a sidewalk on the east side from Ross down towards Dewdney as part of the paving work.

Saw a permit for 110 units in Skyview so I stopped by there this morning to see if it had started. Developer website says 218 units. https://seymourpacific.ca/skyview-village/ Deck rebar going down on the north Albert bridge. Also a million $ permit for a restaurant next to the new north Albert DQ. https://www.flickr.com/photos/regina...7720325409071/

A few pics, might get some more tomorrow evening, it was pretty windy tonight and drone didn't want to stay put. Still working on the Westerra expansion servicing, looks to be fairly large maybe increasing Westerra's size by about 1/3. The LP article from a few weeks ago did mention 320 lots starting to become available by the fall.

Has the city of Regina awarded Housing Accelerator Funding to any noteworthy developments?

City appears to be in the thinking about it phase, other than some zoning changes I'm not sure any projects have received funding. https://www.regina.ca/home-property/...elerator-fund/

There are some infill projects on the go just outside the down town core that seem like they'd be candidates. Multi-unit built on one or two vacant house lots.

When is the city expected to receive it's first installment from the HAF?

According the the Q&A on the page they got the first installment already. Possibly the second and the page just hasn't been updated to reflect it.

A few more from tonight. https://www.flickr.com/photos/regina...7720325409071/

At the second Harbour Landing School site they setup the school zone before even starting to build the school. While over at the long term care facility site I was surprised to see they branched off the path to Sask Poly to head over towards the LTC.

The provincial government is sure stalling on the long-term care home. This has been going on for years and years and years there’s something not right.

The demographic bomb of aging boomers is going to cripple our safety nets and healthcare system, and we aren't going to be able to build enough care facilities at the pace governments currently operate. We're going to need a few of these built per year in the near future.
