There's a lot more houses than in Parsons than the last time I was there in ~2022 but still not that full. I hope the road access has been expanded. The only access from Timberlea was (what felt like) a side road with massive speed bumps and the interchange to 63.

At the June 11 shovel event, Mayor Sandy Bowman said construction on the 80,000-square-foot store shows Fort McMurray’s economy is becoming increasingly attractive to investors.

Home Depot is finally making the move to expand to Fort McMurray. I'm curious how the economics worked for them to make this decision.

They're opted out of building during the boom years when their products would fly off the shelf. But they must think that land and wage prices came down enough to justify their first new store in Canada in 10 years.
