I probably spent hundreds of dollars at that 7/11 grabbing snacks after partying in Fishtown and walking back to either Temple's campus or my first bachelor pad near Broad and Girard! With that said, it was the most disgusting 7/11 in the city. All three of the 7/11 stores on Temple's campus were better than that one, and I've seen some weird things go down at all three haha

This is the actual design which isn't hugely far off, other than the cornice corners and sizes. I think they just approved the worse design

It's definitely a downgrade from the OG renderings but it's a pretty nice looking building in the flesh.

Let's not give up the "good" for the "great." It's a pretty good project and not a metal panel in site.

They say they'll play in new 2031 WFC replacement arena but I wonder if we'll lose out on more concerts and events? WFC is already one of the busiest arenas in the country. WNBA plays 22 home games plus preseason/playoffs. This 2031 arena better have some exterior bars/restaurants/hotel developments or it will be a total disappointment.

O I still think its fine and a nice addition to the area, just not as stylish as the initial plan (I forgot about the updated rendering, which is closer to reality).

the wnba season is from May-October, so essentially the summer, when the Flyers and Sixers are not playing. So even if there are some concerts and events during the summer, I doubt it's an issue to schedule around them.
Besides, I am hoping against hope that they don't repeat the mistake they made by tearing down the spectrum. they could keep both arenas and have them both be profitable. I say this without running any numbers, just a gut feeling.
Also they should keep the Linc, even if the Eagles build a new stadium. move the Union there. I will bang that drum till I can't bang it no more.

They should tear it down and build the residential neighborhood they've been claiming would sprout there for years. In addition, if there was a second arena down there it would pull demand from the various venues in and around Center City.

I hope we get something like the SoFi center in South Philly with mixed used development closer to the subway stop.

the mixed use will come, although not in the form of that overly ambitious rendering they circulated when the Sixers were supposedly considering moving to center city. it will be more modest, but it will be there.
as far as pulling demand from center city venues, I don't think it would. Center City theaters are typically smaller, not competing for the large venue acts. I believe the largest theater in the city outside of the stadium district is the Met, which holds only 4,000.

Shame, just needed altseason and I would have purchased it.

I assume not a hotel?
A shame that the hotel concept didn't work out. Would have made for a great 5-star boutique property away from the hustle and bustle of Rittenhouse.
