The smallish, discrete signs down low on the stage are enough in my opinion. That tells the crowd HEB is sponsoring the event without screaming the logo at everyone. Corporate BS is really obnoxious in the US, even with really great Family run Corporations. Just when is Enough, Enough in the US anymore?

All the addresses on the block except one were cleared for Demo at last night's HLC meeting. There was some type of Admin error with one of the properties, and it will be on a later HLC meeting agenda. Nothing about what is planned for the block was mentioned.

It’s being proposed by the same developer behind 6th & Blanco. I take it once that project is complete they’ll shift their focus to this site. I’d give it 1-2 years after completion of 6th & Blanco for construction to start.

I think the assessment above is spot on. I've lived directly behind this building for 23 years. They just sent demo notifications to us a week ago asking if we oppose or support. Also, as the pictures show, they basically swept the floors of the old Julian Gold space and temporarily installed some local brands, which is great. It always pisses me off when a developer applies for demo, immediately empties the building and then let's it sit empty for years. Yes, I'm looking at you "5th and Walsh" and many other spots.

Travis County’s Mental Health Diversion Center takes another step

Last week, Travis County kicked off the design portion of its long-awaited mental health diversion center and central intake project. The lead architectural firms, Brinkley Sargent Wiginton Architects, Kirksey Architecture, and Pulitzer Bogard, will work with county staff and UT’s Dell Medical School to conceptualize the physical diversion center, which will take approximately 18 months to build after design is complete. This is the next step in a long-term effort to divert people experiencing mental health crises away from the jail, and comes after Integral Care took the first step last year, expanding its walk-in clinic on Airport Boulevard to 24/7 care and adding a new 23-hour observation service for people at urgent risk of harm.

County staff is still in the process of identifying a location for the building, and the design team will provide updates to the commissioners court monthly.

The ABJ is basing their article off of Planning Commission meeting backup files for the ZC. The earliest we might get any renderings is probably well after a site plan is filed.

This is the West side, but yeah similar zoning. The default zoning doesn't even allow for 120'. Developers have to get zoning changes for their projects like in this case to go 120'. It's very piecmeal. The E. Riverside area is the worse. Only allowing 120' on the 5th street side of this project was a comprise with the NA to get their support. That's the reason for the set backs between 5th & 6th.
