I think the assessment above is spot on. I've lived directly behind this building for 23 years. They just sent demo notifications to us a week ago asking if we oppose or support. Also, as the pictures show, they basically swept the floors of the old Julian Gold space and temporarily installed some local brands, which is great. It always pisses me off when a developer applies for demo, immediately empties the building and then let's it sit empty for years. Yes, I'm looking at you "5th and Walsh" and many other spots.
