Growing up, we always called it "Municipal Auditorum" - I hated the name. Back in those days, it seemed like every other city building or property had the word "municipal" somewhere in its title. In those guys, I wanted my little home town to be more "big city" so I hated seing "municipal" almost everywhere I went.
I no longer live in ATX, and the "big city" persona has long since come to stay - for better or worse - and I now kind of miss that "municipal" moniker. Funny how that happens...
