it goes on. Who in the name of god thought this was a wise thing to do (besides being completely unoriginal, it looks like a nightmare for those trying to find an address given the sameness of all the street names)?

LOL, that's bad. I had to look. Then I scrolled over to the next subdivision and here are the names there.

Tarawood Lane
Tarawood Grove
Tarawood Close
Tarawood Road
Tarawood Place

A block south, it's all Taracove names.

What's even more confusing is that many streets share the same name. How does this work?

If you zoom in on any of these subdivisions they all suffer the same name problem.

If you live at 111 Tarawood Lane they would treat each townhouse as a seperate unit, like an apartment or condo building. Think of it like a giant townhouse complex.
111 Tarawood Ln Unit 102, Unit 186, Unit 250, etc.

The Edmonton example niwell posted is way more confusing as the same street can have 3 different names as it rounds a bend

I hate the laziness of the people that make decisions on naming roads. Fer fuxsakes, there are so many great local heroes that could have streets named after them.

At least that subdivision in Gatineau uses wines. Much better than Saddleasscrack Lane shit. Yeeehaww!!!

They’re not even trying anymore. A dirt field that looks like a landfill in winter greige without even a rendering of how it’s supposed to turn out. Did they fire their marketing department for a drone?

Saskatoon has largely avoided this hokey trend, with most new roads bearing names that sound more or less like... street names... but we have something worse... Eastview

There are a number of newish street names here that are basically just weird though...

Pringle Bend
Pepper Bend
Fast Lane
Laycock Cr, Dickson Cr, Chubb Cove, and Assaly St all branching off the same road...
Feheregyhazi Blvd (try saying that to 911)
Beef Research Rd
Glacial Shores Manor
St. Henry Ave (one of the lesser known saints, I suppose)

There are probably others..

Edit... how can I forget the infamous corner of Rusholme Road and Ave P (Rusholme and P)... both of which are collectors or arterials, so it is an actual intersection that may be referred to earnestly... Aaand right at the corner of Leif Erikson Park, too...

I almost turned to stone.

What about full names? For example, intersection of Mike Palmateer Road and Kyle Lowry Way. I find them wordy.

If you are honouring a specific individual, I think such a practice is unavoidable.

For example, we have "Russ Howard Drive" running through the Sportsplex lands here in Moncton. He won the World Men's Curling Championships a couple of times and lived in Moncton for an extended period.

It did. First Clockzilla, then Malek (the dark overlord of Laval).

Chubb Cove is one for the books. I wonder what the street names are in Dildo Nfld?

Somehow the tent in front of the Brick makes it so much funnier. Like a staging area to collect more seniors.
