Yes they eliminated some of the townhouses and increased the floor count and units in the towers. Unfortunately it now leaves most of the parkades exposed whereas before the townhomes hid the parking structures.

Well, I am not thrilled about that part but, I think this is kind of a slightly secluded street, so far so I might not be as noticeable lets say smack downtown or The Wonderful Land Oz (Village), Corydon, The Exchange.

Theres a few different meeting items on Station Place and Yards at Fort rouge in the City Centre committee meeting. I dont think there's anything new from the renders posted here. But has a lot of info on the second building.

It says the buildings are clad in precast concrete insulated panels. Is that like the building on Stradbrook. Ie: not EIFS.

It shows townhomes. Did somebody say the townhomes were removed? Maybe only from building 01.

It also shows 3 cru's facing Jubilee station in building 02.

That's good to hear, I like that building on Stradbrook. Speaking of which, has that building reopened yet?

From the meeting materials, it looks like the townhomes will hide the parking garage on the north side but it will still be pretty visible from the south unfortunately (basically the Pembina and Jubilee views where most people will see it).

The townhouses fronting Agrue have been eliminated. In building one those units were added to the tower which increased its height from 15 to 16 floors.

9 more floors to go. It will seem pretty imposing driving north down Pembina. Even more so when the 21 storey version is built next year.

Its crazy to me these guys come out of nowhere and start casually dropping high rises around the city. I wish we could find a few more of them (unless they're shady, idk anything about them)

It's great that we are getting some transit-oriented developments on the BRT line, but I wish this area had some destinations for the residents. As of right now it's really just a little island in a residential area and isn't that close to anything. Sure you have Osborne right there, but the Safeway is still like 1km away. I think the whole reason to have a transit-oriented development like this is to reduce reliance on cars, but this area is not that walkable and the Blue line doesn't really stop anywhere you can just hop out and get groceries or go shopping. Would have been great to see some CRU's near the station like you see in so many other cities. Do you guys think something like that would work here in Winnipeg on the Blue line?

I agree, there will however be 3 CRU's in Station Place 2, but all buildings in the Fort Rouge yards should have had retail units, like Railside at The Forks.

Worth saying: This whole area (Lord Roberts, Riverview, East Fort Garry) is getting On-Request service with the big transit changes coming later this month, which should make those amenities on Osborne and Pembina more accessible to those who can't walk the km or so.

I think the city needs to move on from their idea that retail has to be on these huge corridors or densely packed in specified neighborhoods. Go to a place like Tokyo where every neighborhood has some shops. Not saying that Winnipeg has the density to support that model but there is probably a happy medium where we don't create islands where either all of the retail is or none of it.

A pedestrian bridge over the rail lines from Rathgar would be sick. You've got No-frills, Brazen Hall and Sals, right across the way.

IIRC that location was on one of the pedestrian cycling strategy maps as a potential location. But if course there is zero funding for any of that.

Edit: As I posted that, I received an email about 2050 Transporation master plan. There is info about cycling in there. I don't think this location was proposed for anything. Will probably converse about this is the roads thread.
