If the goal is to open the museum in 2028, and if Centennial Yards is the location, then wouldn't it have to go in the entertainment district that's already under construction? I'm not sure how they'd alter the current layout to include this museum. There are only 4 buildings: hotel, Cosm, the concert venue and the restaurant/retail building. Could they add another level or two to the restaurant/retail building at this point to include the museum?

Hopefully it doesn't go in CY. Leave CY for retail and restaurants etc instead of using that space for a museum

Yeah really hoping it doesn't go into CY. We have enough large tenant entertainment spaces as it is. Put it near Centennial Olympic Park, or even Midtown.

Little OT but thought it was an interesting oddity. GA Tech has had delivery bots (different brand) on campus for a few months. However, Saturday morning while out for a run, I saw one of these on Peachtree St. (first pic) Then, another block north, I found a ......bot pod????? in front of the CVS. So there were at least 8 of them. Doesn't seem like CVS would spend that kind of money or need to have so many. Also, it seems leaving them out on the street while not open isn't the best idea. So, not sure who they belonged to or what they were doing "hanging" around the CVS, except at least 1. Guess we will see them navigating around Midtown now.

Anyone have any insight?

Those are from Serve Robotics and will apparently be used for Uber Eats later this summer. Atlanta is one of a few cities they're launching in.

The company seems to only be testing them for now, although I've seen them do deliveries (stopped and someone got something out of them), so they must be available somehow. They've been running all over Midtown for the last week or so. Sometimes technicians follow them, but usually they're alone.

There were several around Midtown this weekend...they each have a different name. I saw an employee of Vinny's Pizza at Spire load a pizza in "Sophie" and off she went. She initially wanted to cross Peachtree at 7th and then, after a bit of squirrel syndrome where she waffled back and forth a bit, changed her mind and crossed 7th and went north on Peachtree.

Meanwhile, "Maxwell" sat patiently in front of CVS.

What is the probability of this actually happening and when?

^Georgia Tech tends to build what they say they will (Tech Square phases, science square, new dorms, stadium renovation, etc) so I'm pretty confident this will happen, but it will take years and may look different since this is a conceptual rendering. If I recall this was announced last year as a general project, and is in the University's strategic plan, but these are the first proposal pics I've seen.

Painstakingly slow, but at least the construction doesn't really cause any inconvenience. It'll just be a nice positive once its finally finished in 2035.

Agreed. I remember seeing renderings of the nearly finished Tech Square tower practically a decade ago. I thought they would never build it. But sure enough the keep chugging along executing on their plans (unlike my university.) Once they finish the new residence hall and Tech Square phase 3 tower, I imagine they will finish up Science Square before moving on to this.

Renovation of the Atlanta Constitution building starts on Monday with the aim to complete the clean-up by the start of the World Cup. Great news for South Downtown to get rid of that eye sore right across from Five Points!

Feels like their Midtown property would be the perfect property for SCAD to expand to and continue to coalesce more of a campus feel for their location here.

I'd have to imagine that if they do move -- and it seems likely, or why else scope out a specific building -- then some type of deal with SCAD is probably just waiting to get signed.

Currently it was being mainly used by the Steamhouse Lounge for valet parking. The listing says it has 10.2 FAR as is with an easement for access through Residence inn property to W Peachtree.

I always assumed the parking was part of the hotel, guess not.

Based on the original published height of 31 floors, I'm guessing each of the tower's "sections" contains 3 floors. Do you know if that's correct?
