I'm a bit confused by this exchange. The question wasn't whether or not the government of China is good. It was whether or not it's reasonable to assume the woman is a criminal. Her having different political views such as being a supporter of the Chinese admin doesn't suggest she's a criminal. Do we know if Chinese people associate the anthem with the government rather than with the country in general? If it is associated with the government, it suggests (but not proves) that she may be a supporter. But even then, it doesn't prove or suggest she has "tight links" to them anymore than seeing someone wear a MAGA hat suggests that they have tight links to the Trump admin. She could just be catering to customers who she rightly or wrongly believed wanted it played.

And the point about playing a national anthem not being traditional outside sporting events. Do we know for sure that such traditions and norms are the same across every culture? Lots of assumptions going on here.

Don't ask people not to debate a topic. Just stop making debatable assertions. Problem solved.
