Yeah, I'm with Feepa.

No offense Cold but they know what's happening. You telling them isn't going to change a thing unfortunately.

What appears to be black duct tape. 'Good enough'.

Thanks

So almost 4 years in and still no name, just "LRT Station"? Lol jesus. Guess the woke forgot about their cause?
Willing to bet that if someone removed the tape to expose the name "Grandin", it would go unnoticed for weeks if not months

The proper name for the LRT station is "Government Centre" and it no longer has anything to do with a genocidist. However, I do agree that the city needs a more permanent signage change because that duct tape is beyond embarrassing.

My recap from LinkedIn. Carrie was great to chat with, sounds like more is coming to address issues and she is open to suggestion.

As always, report issues/incidents as that WILL impact resource deployment and business planning.

---
Thursday morning I met with the most kind/thoughtful Carrie Hotton-MacDonald of ETS, to learn more about upcoming changes, system investments and how they are working to address chronic challenges facing riders and staff.

As we look to eventually welcome thousands of new residential units and residents into our YEGDT transit will become even more critical to how people move about. We MUST continue to improve the overall experience, frequency in core neighbourhoods (good work on this ETS!) and most critically, safety.

Our system (like many cities) has been challenged over the last while with varied layering of issues and foundational societal shifts that are complex, require a variety of jurisdictional/legal reviews and commitment from all stakeholders to head towards positive outcomes.

I want to thank Carrie for taking the time to listen, share and encourage us all to report issues, bring forward ideas and propose solutions.

This station will get an entirely new name, it is currently in the process.

As a Torontonian, its not often you find me in the Edmonton threads......

But I do try to keep up on major projects across the nation.

I would like to take a moment to thank you for posting on such, and for taking the time to be a positive activist as well.

Its something I do in my home City extensively, and to some degree provincially and nationally as well.

I very much appreciate someone taking the time to get off their duff and talk to people in power, not only informing yourself (and others) but also hopefully finding ways to motivate government to do better.

Ignore the haters, whose sarcasm is matched only by their apathy.

^ LOL

It's not that, its as if IanO was presenting a novel idea that isn't already widely known. And he brought no solutions. Just a whiner.

So I was walking south today. So PHase I of the South Capital Line extension that is currently ongoing ends at Twin Brooks? So they can do the Blackmud Creek Bridge before working on crossing the Henday?

There's work going on for the full extension. You can see them prepping the maintenance yard, and getting ready for the bridge over the henday.

I'm wondering where the pedestrian crossing is for the Southwest Henday. It would be nice to walk over it.
