Maybe it's a gift from one of the Pacific tribes? There was one outside the Leg which was finally laid to rest in the traditional fashion when they start to rot.

It seems like it's going well. I'm not really involved with the project but I got to do a tour on Monday. Looks really nice so far. The website for the building is now up:
