Sherbrooke building looks pretty bleak, mainly due to the siding. If the dark sections were brick and the light sections siding but slightly set back it would make a world of a difference.

The Rainbow Resource Centre welcome centre looks cool! The 130 Sherbrooke St. building leaves me at a loss for words.

With that cheap siding, 130 Sherbrooke could be in competition with 710 Westminster for the ugliest new build in West Broadway.

I hope they have to upgrade the siding. Take Pride Winnipeg (developers)!

Paragon kept getting ragged on for their black and white buildings, so I guess they figured they'd shake things up by going black and grey on this one.

The City approved variances for the new apartment building at the corner of Broadway and Furby. It won't win any architectural awards but it adds to the housing supply.

The building is bland but 3 commercial units and 21 residential units is pretty good for that lot. Seems like a good development. I think the current apartment building there has been vacant for awhile right?

Bear in mind that we're getting a new build with 20+ residential units on a parcel that is directly across the street from a youth social services agency and right up the street from all the interesting challenges of the Sherbrooke Inn.

Bland building or not, this feels like they're making a bet on this neighbourhood's future.

634 Portage Ave whenever it moves forward would be such a huge shot in the arm to boost the dream of a well developed south Sherbrook and surrounding area, inspiring more good builds like this

Affinity Architecture is absolutely shitting on this city. West Broadway is one of the few neighbourhoods in Winnipeg that has a bit of architectural character and does not need lowest common denominator garbage. This "units at all costs" mindset gets us nowhere.

when have you seen a building like this in "suburbia"? a new build with some brick veneer, windows, balconies and providing dozens of new suites replacing a dilapidated house is getting shitted on? c'mon pal, someone is making a $ investment, you want brick arches and golden mythical dragons embedded in the design or what are you looking for?

Ah, sorry. Ya not the greatest. Reminds of that building on Portage. Which is someones avatar here on SSP haha

Sounded to me like we're getting mixed up between that buildings. And the 4 storey sloped roof stucco thing at one of the links.

Im referring to the design at the bottom of this link that I believe is the new design for the Broadway building, and is basically just a large suburban house. Unless I am mixing up buildings here.
