Sunny and 21 here today but windy. Currently have 2 wildfires of note. One about an hour NE of Edmonton and the Other up near Grande Prairie.

But with the warm temps its my happy time and I can play in the Garden. And clean the Pond out.

24C with a humidex of 27 and a mix of sun and clouds. Nice day but the warmth from the Prairies never quite made it here.

Low of 13C this morning and rainy. It stopped even cleared up by noon.

The warmspot was Lytton, BC at 28.5C.

Warmest low was Frelighsburg, QC at 14.3C. Once again if it holds, it will be the warmest low this year. Oshawa ended up with an official low of 13.7C so their record from yesterday did not hold.

I think Monday's high and low temps at Vancouver Harbour were probably similar to Sunday (or maybe a bit warmer).

It's been warm and windy, with brush and forest fires popping up daily. We might get some rain in the area tomorrow morning; otherwise, the next best chance is early next week. Pretty much the entire central part of the province is currently under a fire ban or restriction, and I suspect it will be a campfire-free May long weekend unless we get some sustained and heavy rain next week.

Lots of fires burning elsewhere on the Avalon, and some evacuations. Haze has now settled in over the city.

Was winter that dry there? It seemed like you posted lots of updates with precip, snow or rain.

Most of the season's snow fell in about a 2-week period in February, otherwise it wasn't overly snowy. Not sure about rain, it didn't feel wetter than normal, but it could have been drier than normal too, so idk.

It's a bit odd that there are fires popping up now considering last week was pretty wet.

EDIT: Yeah the fire near Adam's Cove (just north of Carbonear) looks real bad. They've been evacuated.

I was saying most of the winter we were going to be burned alive this summer if we didn't soon get snow. Luckily we did, but not too much I suppose.

20C with a humidex of 22 and a mix of sun and clouds. Some showers this afternoon as the conditions were changing.

Low of 15C this morning. Absolutely gorgeous with blue sky. It clouded up later.

The warmspot was Medicine Hat, AB at 31.0C.

Warmest low was Kamloops, BC at 15.1C. Whether that holds remains to be seen. Would be the new high low if it does.

Frelighsburg, QC officially had a low of 14.3C yesterday. Finally beating the old yearly mark from March 19th. More than due.

Beautiful day for the first day of ball season, 24 and sunny this afternoon. We've had fog the past two mornings, Lake Erie still gives off a bit of a chill in early May.

That posting needs an advisory/warning before viewing for poeple with pyrophobia, like Tancredi, who I assume (from his enjoyment of cold snowy wintery scenes) has that phobia. It is a scary photo.

15C and partly cloudy in Moncton at 10 AM, going up to 19C this afternoon with occasional showers.

Wind has died down here, Cool today as well may help the fire situation. My city is now in fire ban. Evacuation orders are now in for areas NW Westlock rea and some in the Grande Prairie area. and NE (Boyle) of Edmonton.

Have ran my sprinkler in the back ravine already once. if no rain today I'll run it again Friday.

Yes, you're absolutely right. I imagine we're all terrified of wildfires. I deeply hate them, especially because here in Sicily the vast majority of fires aren’t caused by global warming — a claim that journalists keep repeating endlessly. Global warming is undeniably real, of course, but it’s not the higher temperatures that actually ignite the fires. At least here in Sicily, most of them are intentional and end up destroying many hectares of forest — and our forests are already very small. These arson fires are definitely started by criminals who want to burn the woods for financial gain or job-related interests. For example, I’m convinced that many of the wildfires are deliberately set by people working in the forestry service or even those connected to the Canadair aircraft operations.

The warmspot was Dauphin, MB at 31.9C.

Warmest low was Hudson Bay, SK and Creston, BC at 13.6C.

The Interior places were not able to hold on to their provisional low. Ended up in the 12C range (and in the 9C for Lytton). Frelighsburg's mark of 14.3C remain.
