you dont see loitering around 201 portage or richardson as security doesnt allow it. but as soon as it's "public space" like the Air Canada park that is what happens.

Perhaps a no loitering bylaw is needed for the development? — that that is where we are but it may be necessary.

Unless it's enforced, a no loitering bylaw will do nothing. Like mentioned, the few offices that have more stringent security keep those that don't have any business in there out. So the Forks would likely need some form of around-the-clock security that extends to the railside development to manage that.

On a positive note, the development will also bring residents to bring up the ratio of residents to those experiencing homelessness.

Having been in downtown Toronto the last few weeks, there are plenty of individuals experiencing homelessness on every block, much like Winnipeg, but I felt much safer than walking around Winnipeg since there were also a high number of people walking about and I never felt truly isolated from others walking around.

I don't feel unsafe walking around in Winnipeg because I could kick the — out of most of the people that are deemed to be a problem. The people are mostly in a negative state of health and generally can't put up a fight. The raging methhead is the rarity from my experience.

All you need is some security to move people along before they set up shop.

Exactly, this isn't a major issue anywhere else on the Forks site so why would it be any different?

I really like "pilot & porter ", exactly what I thought we'd see more of. I'm sure many of you will — on it because it's qualico/streetside.

There are really only 1 maybe 2 that I can't wrap my head around, but the rest are perfectly suitable for that site.

I like that one the best. More simply looking that the pink stucco thing.

I like it too. Its understated but elegant. The brickwork will be nice.

I also like the Number 10 building TV. What is the design philosophy there?

With the brick colour, rounded corners, and the arches, I get these vibes of like those 1970's futuristic buildings(I'll have to find an example of what I'm talking about) but with the older 1900's era warehouse district feel.

FNP with Number Ten is my favorite. Beautiful design. What is the earliest we will see shovels in the ground? Is it expected most will start construction at the same time?

5.7 acres with 285 units.

I gotta say that it's pretty underwhelming for ten buildings in possibly the city's most strategically important urban location.

For comparison, Paragon's Whyte Ridge development in the middle of the furthest-flung Winnipeg suburbs will have 280 units in four buildings on 2.7 acres.
